As a deaf person, I've experienced funny prejudices.

Two examples. Sometimes I was asked if I could read braille. Other times they asked me if I could drive.

I was best friends with a Black Jamaican in middle school.

Spent 4 years around him, only witnessed prejudices 2 times.

Although 2 very serious prejudices, A riot of Italian skateboarders throwing rocks & slurs at him. The other another Italian kid started pushing him.

So you're telling me what you perceived as the discrimination against a black friend you once had in middle school. That's fine; and I appreciate that you acknowledged two terrible incidents. I would go ask that friend whether or not those were the only two instances that he encountered discrimination in the four years you were close with him. I already know the answer.

The next time they ask me those stupid questions, I'll tell them that's why we have braille on drive through ATMs.

I've witnessed both of those "jokes" offered to (against) deaf people. No one is immune from discrimination, but there is discrimination that is systemic and some that is not.

You can't have it both ways, RomanDmowski. You just asserted that discrimination is not prevalent. Now you want to claim that you're the victim of prejudices?

Sounds similar to the amount of prejudices I've experienced in the past year.

I'm half Polish & half Irish.

A couple of months ago an Irish guy told me Poles & Eastern Europeans are way more drunken than Irish.

Had a few months ago an Italian dude make fun of Irish accents & say Irish have little wee wees.

Before that sn Italian, Albanian. Puerto Rican& Jewish guy said Irish are arrogant A'- Holes, liars& whiners.

Had a Italian girl tell me Polish people are actually stupid.

Had last winter an Italian girl bar tender say Irish have little wee wees.

I said everyday.

Not once every few months like you answered.

In March I also had some Black I never met stare me down with mean hostilities.

I take it he didn't like that I'm White.

Been experiencing such from Black's since childhood.

You shouldn't be judged, insulted, or discriminated against because of your skin color or national origin. No one should make fun of our dicks until they get to see them. No one should judge our alcohol consumption until they get wasted with us. Accents are free game in any comedic environment. You get no pity from me about the way Irish people speak. Assholes, liars, and whiners is not an insult that would ever burn me. Neither is stupid. You should not be discriminated against unnecessarily; and I am sorry that anyone has the nerve to talk to you like that.

However, the point remains: You've just acknowledged that discrimination is common in the US. Please don't tell me again that it isn't. Furthermore, non-white, non-straight people and all women deal with shit that you couldn't even begin to contemplate, so please don't tell me again that discrimination is a minor or nonexistent problem. We are tired to death of straight, white people telling us that we're lucky to be treated so well.

Hmm, yet I don't think verbal discrimination is such a big deal.

It's freedom of speech.

Been out of the country much? I do not mean to Europe or someplace like that. Middle East? South America? Nigeria? Egypt? People of all walks of life have it damn good in America compared to many other countries.

Again, you shouldn't have to experience discrimination; and I'm sorry that you have. I just want you to know that systemic discrimination is different. You have some anecdotal stories from here and there about being mistreated based on the way you look or where you come from. We deal with it every single day. There are similarities between the cases, but they are not comparable.
