It’s an accident, unless the purposefully drive their car into another, so it is t co side red murder. A person pointing and shooting a gun at someone willfully is not an accident, it is murder.

If the girl dies, it'd be second degree murder: 2-20 years in prison.

FWIW, murder of a LEO is a capital murder along with terroristic threats. :)

Murder is a First-Degree Felony*. The range of punishment is 5-99 years (or Life) in Prison, and up to a $10,000 fine.

*If the Murder was committed due to a sudden passion, then it is punished as a Second-Degree Felony. The range of punishment is 2-20 years in Prison, and up to a $10,000 fine.

The crime of Capital Murder is governed by Chapter 19 of the Texas Penal Code. Under section 19.03, a murder is treated as a capital murder under any of the following circumstances:

  • Intentionally killing a law officer or fireperson while he or she is on duty; or
  • Intentionally killing someone while committing or trying to commit certain crimes:

It depends upon the motive. In this case, Pedro appears to have thought they were stealing his car. It's an unjustified shooting, but more understandable than simply shooting into a car.

He's probably going to prison for shooting the girls. Hopefully the girl fully recovers.

FWIW, i'm happy to point out your deference to crimes against government agents being more harshly dealt with than crimes against us ordinary citizens........you really love your gov agents, don't you?

It's the guns! I would say half the people in this country who own firearm's, should not have them?!! I think you should have a license and training to carry a conceal weapon too?!! You are going to have to vote out the pro-gun politicians for change too?!!
 
Are these young people not being taught to pay attention to their surroundings? Not to mention paying attention to detail. My address is duplicated on 4 separate thoroughfares in my community, a street, a terrace a way and an avenue. I constantly receive the wrong mail, and I get a lot of people at my door looking for someone two or three streets over.

It’s why I never open the door when anyone knocks without asking them to identify themselves and asking who they are looking for. And yes, I have a gun very close by.
