Mosul dam engineers warn it could fail at any time, killing 1m people

Iraqis who built dam say structure is increasingly precarious and describe government response as ‘ridiculous’

They pointed out that pressure on the dam’s compromised structure was building up rapidly as winter snows melted and more water flowed into the reservoir, bringing it up to its maximum capacity, while the sluice gates normally used to relieve that pressure were jammed shut.

The Iraqi engineers also said the failure to replace machinery or assemble a full workforce more than a year after Islamic State temporarily held the dam means that the chasms in the porous rock under the dam were getting bigger and more dangerous every day. A contract with an Italian construction firm for carrying out urgent repairs has yet to be signed, but behind-the-scenes negotiations with Baghdad continue.

Who cares about the lives of a million Iraqis ? George Bush didn't. Tony Blair didn't. Hillary Clinton didn't. Donito Trumpolini doesn't.

It's not even a matter of trying hard. The Israelis wanted Iraq attacked- Washington records show AIPAC clamouring for it- and Bush obliged. It's also true that 75% of Israelis are Jewish.
Looking deeper though and a little further back in history it was the Brits that enabled the boil on the arse of the Middle East in the first instance- but that's probably too far back to actually assign ' blame'. The war on Iraq is a more recent candidate.
Of course, your designation of ' Joos ' to describe all the culprits in the illegal invasion of Iraq is waaaaaay too broad. What you should be doing, indeed what everybody should be doing, is to identify which particular Jews were responsible for instigating the war. You certainly can't assign blame to all Jews, not even all Israeli Jews. Like any group of people some members of the group will be arseholes. Take your own presence amongst subscribers to this thread as an example.

Based on the last paragraph, it sounds like Obama's fault. Didn't he pull troops out of there?

It's built on gypsum as a sub-strata. Engineers have to constantly pump in concrete. The gypsum isn't a solid foundation

After ISIL captured the Mosul dam a couple years ago -the workers fled, and despite the Iraqi's recapture,
there isn't a current work force/engineering team there to do the maintenence

Surely we should blame Obama for the criminal decision to pull out the troops and allow Daesh to take over Mosul, I daresay you were all for that at the time.
