1984 ?

Did he really? Or did Congress?

And maybe that has something to do with the underwhelming silence? You know, the pesky difference between the legal and illegal.
He did. It was a direct statement from the Administration on the continuation of the program and adding to it the belief that that nobody could sue them over it, and no it has nothing to do with the silence, only partisanship has something to do with the silence.

The democratic government wasn't widely supported, but it was the right government to have. The Iranian theocracy was widely supported, and its what they and the rest of the world got. And now we have a huge fucking mess in the Middle east, not even to mention the Iran-Iraq war which killed a million people.
you and I might think it's the right government to have, but if it wasn't what the iranian people wanted, they had every right to change their form of government. If their form of government invites war, then we'll just have to meet that challenge.

For a guy who presumably loves Israel, you sure have a funny view on Iran.
you may presume too much, but that has nothing to do with my view on Iran.

you're failing to mention something that is very important. did EVERY SINGLE CITIZEN fight against the government? Or, and this is what I suspect, that those who supported the democratic government sat on their sheepish asses and didn't grab any other heavy arms to fight the extremists?

Lynchocracy is government by the most passionate, not government by the majority.

The Iranian people didn't change their government. A passionate, heavily armed and trained minority did. And that's SMY's dream scenario.

dumbass, you're also being fucking obtuse. Where were the people that supported the democratic government? If a majority of the people in that country supported democratic representation, they should have gotten off their lazy, cowardly, sheepish asses...grabbed a weapon, and killed the radical extremists.
