18 U.S. Code § 371 - Conspiracy to commit offense or to defraud United States

According to the sworn testimony of Republicans that you refused to watch, yes.

Apparently you haven't been watching. There's been ZERO evidence that anyone asked for a pardon. Those they accused have stated clearly Democrats are lying.

But the better question is, when are Democrats NOT lying.
:palm:

I don't want to have the taxpayers feed that orange mutant for five years.
Just put him under permanent house arrest at Mar A Lago and let him pay for his own food until, hopefully soon, he dies.
The entire state of Florida can be converted to a reservation for undesirables.
It's not far from that already. Just lock it down.

Hello Jarod,

"If two or more persons conspire either to commit any offense against the United States, or to defraud the United States, or any agency thereof in any manner or for any purpose, and one or more of such persons do any act to effect the object of the conspiracy, each shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.

If, however, the offense, the commission of which is the object of the conspiracy, is a misdemeanor only, the punishment for such conspiracy shall not exceed the maximum punishment provided for such misdemeanor."

This seems to be the easiest statute to prove Trump violated. . .

If Trump knew or should have known he lost AND he conspired with one or more person and they took action to keep him in office, he has broken this criminal law.

I really do not understand why AG Garland has not acted.

He keeps saying he doesn't have to make public statements about any investigations the DOJ might be making.

That is not enough!

Spoken like a true blue Fascistic moron on steroids Comrade. Thank you for coming out and exposing yourself as a Fascist dumbass. :palm:

Does Garland have any concept of what kind of damage this is doing to our country?

That this man has so publicly and obviously violated the law in so many ways, and it is no secret, and that there is absolutely no legal recourse be taken.

What are the American people supposed to think?

That Trump is above the law?

That if a person has enough money, and his lies are blatant and frequent enough, that he will not be held responsible?

How can we have confidence in our government if they just let him get away with it?

Hello Jarod,

He keeps saying he doesn't have to make public statements about any investigations the DOJ might be making.

That is not enough!

My only guess is timing, he may be waiting until after the midterms so he can avoid accusations of playing politics, or he may be trying to avoid charging a former president.

If only this law could be applied fairly, evenly, and judiciously across the entire spectrum, most politicians and elected office holders would be in prison

Trump is guilty of treason; he not only violated his oath but he made war on the United States Constitution by rallying an army and attacking the Capitol.

Trump will never get what he deserves unless one of the militias seek revenge for his betrayal but he is most certainly guilty of treason.

Disagree. This is a big stretch in interpretation to claim "rallying an army". There was no enemy to give aid and comfort to and claiming he "waged war" on the U. S. is a stretch.

Treason is hard to prove and there have been relatively few convictions. There must be two witnesses to the same act (conspiring).

No doubt some of our liberal posters will call me a right-winger defending Trump, but I am just explaining the difficulties of conviction for treason and why it will not happen.

Was Barr involved in any conspiracy? Jarod says another member is not necessary. I was thinking of treason:

"No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court..."

Barr was clearly not involved in such, he was the one that flat told Trump that he was wrong and that he had lost. He also is the one that has clearly indicated that he does not think that Trump violated the law and that he thinks no charges will come of this "investigation".

You are a right wing defender of Trump. Hilarious.

Do you have a cite to that?

You could have stopped at Barr does not think.

To which? His daughter testified to the first, saying that she believed him because she respected him, you supposedly watched that "investigation" and therefore must have seen the video of her being questioned (though you must not have actually watched as you were saying it started with Cheney when it did not, several Democratic Congresscritters spoke before her) and the second part was on a TV interview. I'll see if I can find it.

All true but you and I both know there's a difference between things said during a TV interview and things said under oath. :)

That said, I doubt Trump will be charged with a Federal crime....but all of his staffers on Team Crazy are going to BURN. LOL
