It appears he's in custody. Not only will the state take a harsher view of his actions but he's probably going to take some relatives to prison with him....as if some haven't already been.
My guess is that he'll be tried as an adult and he'll be 18 by the time he's given his sentence for first degree murder.

Mr Rittenhouse has been assigned a public defender and is expected to appear in court on Friday.

If you watch the extended video, he walked right past several police cars/vehicles after the murders, and nobody gave him a glance.
They would have shot any black man just for walking in the middle of the street, though.
