As part of the Iran nuclear agreement the Obama administration - in exchange for abandoning their nuclear program - allowed Iran access to their frozen accounts in the US. It was $400 million plus 40 years of interest. A grand total of $1.7 billion. Republicans have been screaming about it for 15 years.

Today Trump allowed Iran to sell 140 million barrels of oil. At today’s price of roughly $110 per barrel, that’s **$15.4 billion** for Iran.

At least Obama got something in return. Trump is just trying to stop his political bleeding.

Trump is an idiot. If those ships are in open sea they need to be siezed and either stashed in SPR or I dunno shared amongst asian allies.
 
On top of the $15+ billion he is now allowing Iran to pocket, he is also lining the pockets of Putin by lifting those oil sanctions.

And people probably don’t know that maintenance on those seized Venezuelan tankers is well in excess of $50 million.
