Now I admittedly am not all that familiar with the specific details of 1099's but have followed it being discussed as it relates to healthcare. Seems there is some type of vote in the Senate today on this issue and making certain changes/attempted repeal of the $600 reporting rule in effect for the new health care reform bill.

This article is in the WSJ opinion section so for those more familiar with 1099's could you tell me whether it is accurately portraying the situation or is there spin here leaving important info out. Thanks.

I hope they are successful, it would generate a mountain of paperwork if all businesses had to report already reported transactions on 1099s for simply making a purchase.
 
I think the Nelson amendment would be fine, because it specifically excludes most smaller businesses. But they have the votes to repeal the entire thing anyway, so I think that's what's going to happen.

I have employable skills, it's just that fascists prefer overseas slaves who aren't as threatening to them as american citizens who are smarter than they are.

If the bill is amended the paper companies stand to lose billions. This will mean that logging companies will also lose a ton of money. At least less trees will be shopped down which is good for the enviornment. Less ink is going to be sold.
