I read that article. It sounds like taking the vaccine is very safe, and that is it far riskier to NOT take the vaccine.
There are no 100% guarantees in life. Nobody can guarantee us that when we wake up on a certain day, that we will not be dead before the end of the day. Everyone is going to die someday. Few people know exactly when their death will come. Some people will die today. If you take the vaccine, you are far less likely to die than if you refuse to take the vaccine.
It really seems like a no brainer to go ahead and take the vaccine.
Some of the people who are holding out are afraid. Not brave enough to take this one step. They are doing the math, hoping that enough other people will get it so that the virus goes away and they never have to get a shot.
We don't need 100% of the population to get the vaccine. And who is to decide who the ones who never get it are, but themselves?
The problem for America is that we have too many people holding out like this.
We are not getting a large enough percentage of vaccinated people to get control of corona.
What we need is for more people to start thinking of America, and what America needs, than only thinking about themselves.
We need people to realize the big picture, and be willing to be a part of the solution.
And stop being a part of the problem.
We need more people who love their country enough to do that.
And it's really the smartest safest way to get through the pandemic, anyway.

Agreed the Republicans are failing their own constituents with poor leadership, false information and politicizing a pandemic.
How all of their bullshit affects the elections next year will be interesting.

I appreciate the honesty if not the morality of those few, like Sailor for example, who simply don't want the
government in the business of doing basically anything except having a gargantuan military.
They don't want us to confront climate change because they fear it costs too much, they don't want us to help with natural disaster because of the purse also.
Same with pandemics, same with hunger, housing, schools, poverty, health care.
So in comes the lies. There is no climate change, the hurricane is no big deal, covid is sniffles, they are lying about covid death rate, they are conflating
the deaths with other reasons people die to pump up the numbers, they cheated in the election. All of it lies.
Why lie? Because the real reason is these real problems cost real money and they don't want to pay for it.
God if only there were more Repukes who would just admit they want small government that is incapable of addressing large problems.
At least there would be honesty in debate.

But with the coronavirus the numbers do not lie. The effects of wrong policy become inescapable.

Mismanagement happens. There was some initial mismanagement in the beginning due to flawed information or no information. That changed to bold-faced lying by the Trump administration as he confessed to Bob Woodward on tape.

The more people who remain alive in the pandemic, the better it is for the economy.
The more people who immigrate into the USA, the better it is for the economy.
Actions taken to deal with the Climate Crisis, are an excellent opportunity to make lots of money. All one has to do is invest in the correct things. We have experts to do that. They run mutual funds. Simply buy mutuals if you want to expand holdings. More funds are holding more and more green stocks all the time.
There is LOTS of money to be made building the green new world.
There is LOTS of money to be made helping the disadvantaged become more productive.
Republicans would do themselves a world of good if they simply forgot everything they believe and look at each of these subjects with an open mind.

Yep- They have to rely upon and are counting on the cheating now with the new state voting suppression laws.

I don't think so. The first time some state Republican voting official fails to certify a minority district just because they don't like the outcome, a lawsuit will be filed and will go all the way to the Supreme Court, and the Supreme court will make them be counted.
Remember this is what Donald Trump tried to get State Republican officials to do in the last election, AND THE SUPREME COURT DID NOT ALLOW IT.
The Supreme Court knows that these states are going to attempt this based on their new laws, they see it coming, and will be ready to advise the states that that is illegal in Federal elections- State laws- or no state law! And this is the precedent that the Supreme Court will easy fall back on.
States will not be allowed to just fail to certify minority districts ballots just because they don't like the number counts- which is what they think will give them the edge based on their new Kangaroo laws!
Because of Donald Trump and his Trumptards living the lie, America will never have another election that will be decided on election night. Elections will not be decided in future elections for weeks after the elections because of all the cheating the Republicans think they can now legally get by with by just failing to certify minority district counts. Because the parties will sue each other and will have to be decided by the highest court!
The Supreme court will be involved now in every election- which takes our country back 20 years. Donald trump ruins everything he touches.

That's not going to work for them in the long term. In fact, I strongly suspect lying, cheating and pushing anti-American legislation will blow up in their faces.
All of the plea deals and the trials will take place over the next few years. Every one of them will reveal a little piece of the truth until all the truth is known.

The SCOTUS might hand down a conservative decision on something nebulous like abortion, but I don't think Trumpists can count on the SCOTUS to hand them an election they clearly lost. The SCOTUS may be conservative, but they are dedicated to the law and the Constitution. When laws and the Constitution are opposed, the SCOTUS can be counted on to side with the Constitution.
