I'm against sanctuary cities. A little more skeptical about churches as sanctuaries but agree on common sense limits. The President and Congress could fix that but mostly it's a States Rights issue.

That Biden had to acquiesce [aka bending the knee] and make a race-based pick for VP tells you that Biden didn’t have much confidence in getting the back vote and/or they didn’t like what they were seeing in their internal polling.
Which further suggests that Biden will get the black vote [well, it’s a given for a Democrat] but the support may be ‘soft’ in the sense many blacks could waver and/or just not show up on Election Day.
I can’t think of a single reason why blacks should rush out the door to vote for Joe Biden. Harris ‘checks the race box’ but are blacks really all that stuck on that? They already voted for the first black president so that kind of blew the ceiling out. First black woman VP would seem kind of, meh, after that.
