Biden can impose certain sanctions, but his powers are limited. My recommendation is for all citizens of the free world to stop putting money into Russia until Putin takes a flight out of his hospital room window.

Whelan is legitimately a criminal. We should not forget that. He stole money from Marines in combat. There are Marines who have spent years trying to rebuild their finances after what he did to them.

That being said, he is a US citizen... Technically... So we have to try to help him. Afterwards, maybe we denaturalize him and deport him from the USA, but first we get him out of Russia.

No... I am trying to be nice to you, because I think maybe you just do not understand. When he got a bad conduct discharge for stealing from Marines who were too busy fighting in a war to notice he was stealing from them, he lost the right to say he is a Marine. Once a Marine Always a Marine only applies in the case of honorable discharges, not for people who conned their way out of a full on dishonorable discharge.

Calling Whelan a Marine is an insult to real Marines who served their country. Again, I think you just did not know about his criminal history, but you should be more careful.

Imagine all those Marines who had their lives destroyed by Whelan. While they were in combat, he was busy applying for cash benefits in their name, that they would have to repay, but he would get the money. Their cars and houses were repossessed. Their wives and children went unpaid. They were unable to receive tuition benefits because they still owe money that he stole.

And he was able to get out after just serving 60 days. He knew the system, and knew that even if they figured out after the fact that he had stolen more than they originally thought, once he was clear of the military it was hard to get him the serious time he really deserved.

Whelan getting only 60 days in prison in the Marines is the fucking disgusting thing. Never forget that.

I am not saying this to attack you, but he is not a Marine. He was in the Marine Reserves for five years, but used that time to steal from real Marines. His bad conduct discharge was a gift to him, he deserved a dishonorable discharge.

Given his character, I am sure what Whelan really wants is access to a lot of people's bank account information.

I cannot stress this enough, I want Whelan out of Russia. He is a US citizen, and we need to get back to taking care of our citizens on the international stage...
