Romney apologizes

You can continue spouting off your nonsense dog whisperer. You think there is more out there, yet refuse to produce a link to it? Maybe you should shift focus onto what cats in 1968 were thinking.

Dog owners, dog lovers, people who would not do this to our furry friends. Maybe you would enjoy a ride atop a car, you enjoy fresh air, also!

So, you would not consider for one moment that the dog was stressed riding on top of a car, traveling at 55 mph by itself.

Okay, apparently you have never owned a dog. I would never do that to my dog.

I would consider it sure. I would not however jump to the conclusion that the dog was stressed. I have indeed had my dogs (when I had dogs), ride in the back of pickups cruising down the highway. They loved it. dogs also stick their head out of the window when people are driving down the highway... to act like you know they would be terrified suggests it is you that has never owned a dog.

I have also had dogs on speed boats. Same thing. they like the wind... now that doesn't mean they will always like it or that every dog will love it. But in weighing a lifetime of experience with dogs, the evidence lies not with fear/anxiety, but with enjoyment.

Again, the above says you have never owned a dog. You are just spouting nonsense because it makes a politician 'look bad' to you. dog owners also stick their dogs in the cargo holds of planes so that they can take them on longer trips. Are we going to go back and check to see if politicians ever did that? Because a dark cold cargo hold is far worse on dogs than a friggin trip in a crate on a car roof.

They were also nears humans, not alone in a cage on top of the car, very different circumstances.

I don't like dogs being allowed to ride in the back of trucks, I saw a really ugly accident and would never allow my dog to ride in the back of a truck as a result. Another time I saw a dog secured by a leash, the driver had to stop the truck quickly the dog was thrown from the truck and was being strangled by the leash. Two incidences that convinced me never to put my dog in the back of a truck.

and I have seen dogs get hit by cars because their owner let them outside. Thus no dogs outside. Though I have also seen dogs left at home that burned in fires, so no dogs left at home either. Dogs can also sometimes die because they eat garbage and choke on bones, thus no more eating anything with bones.

when he first got to the lockerroom he was a grabbee.....after shearing they became grabbers......the entire team got shaved....

as for whether I'm "okay with it".....I could care less, any more than I care what Romney or Obama did in high school......

Nice to see you equate bullying with an exercise designed to instill a sense of camaraderie in teammates and help them bond through shared sacrifice.

Are dogs that ride in the back of trucks, who are alone, traveling at 55 mph, stressed?

Which has nothing to do with the premise that he's presented.
Can you try dealing with that, instead of your FEELINGS?

Absolutely, no dogs outside unless they are restrained or follow commands, now you are making sense. I do not give my dogs bones unless they are the ones made for dogs, so again, good call. I don't even feed my dog people food because it is bad for them.

You are smarting up, SF! You might be pet worthy soon.

The dogs love to be in the back of the truck, my kids are not there. Can you tell me the logical difference between the two? Not the emotive "it's on top of the car" version, but the real logical version?

So nobody here wants to admit if they remember having held someone down and cut there hair off or not?

Its something Id remember if I did it!

I would hate to be a dog owned by the two of you. My dog is treated like a member of my family. I don't put my dog or my kids in the back of a truck.

LOL So no, you cannot tell me a logical difference between the two and will continue to emote all over us instead. Cool enough, a simple yes or no would have sufficed.

My dogs love being part of our family, but there are too many of them to be in the front with us. They get to come with us on vacation rather than stay in a Kennel or with strangers they participate in our lives because I have a means to bring them with me.

What I'd hate is to be stuck in a Kennel when you traveled somewhere else because you thought I was "part of the family" and wouldn't let me come along because I might ride in the back of the pickup. I loved riding in the back of the pickup when I was a child. All of us kids did.

You know you've seen dogs loving the experience, you just don't want to admit it because it undermines your emotive "he's a horrible man" argument.

Ive seen dogs that enjoyed being in the back of trucks, As a kid I enjoyed riding in the back of trucks. There is a big difference between the back of a truck and the roof of a car, the wind is much worse on the roof.

I also cant imagine a dog or person enjoying riding in the back of a truck for an 8 hour road trip.

You use logic when it comes to your animals and family, I will use emotions.

I don't leave my dog at a kennel either when I travel.

You equating riding in the back of a truck to riding on the roof of a car is not logical either.

If you don't see this as mistreatment of your pet, then there will be no changing your mind.

I just would not treat my dog this way. I know a great many people feel the same way.
