Obama king of etch-a-sketch

You'll just never get it; ain't nothing I can do about that. It's a non-issue because it's not within the executive realm.

Sorry 'bout that.

go back and address my post that explained how it is. i'm laughing my ass off though because you just admitted it is an issue in his election....you said it was a non issue for presidents...but you just admitted it is an issue.

you're too dumb to realize you're wrong.

Sounds like you're getting riled up.

You're going for a gotcha, but it ain't working. Do I realize that gay marriage is a big headline grabber and something that people talk about & vote on in Presidential campaigns? Of course. That wasn't the context of my remark to you, however. My contention was that it's a non-issue for Presidents, because it does not fall within their realm.

Like I said, you don't get it, and you won't get it. It does get tiring, but I'll keep repeating that if you want.

What the President is doing is VERY Rovian, and I hate the use of social issues to drive a wedge into the voter base. When the Democrats do it, it happens that they are working on appealing to me, when the R's do it they are trying to appeal to the far right. Its wrong in both instances and I wish they would not.

This type of campaigning is one of the things I hated about Bush and the lack of it was something I previously liked about President Obama and still like about McCain.

right...keep ignoring the facts i presented that show it does fall within their realm. we never ever talked about wither it was a big headline grabber. you're just incapable adult reading comprehension. you just don't get that it is a huge issue to presidents...obama took risk with this. you will never get it because you're naive. you only see what you want to see and you will never change your views because you're too insecure.

It's not a huge issue, or even an issue. The "facts" you presented are basically hypothetical nothings. There hasn't been one SCOTUS appointment - not one - where gay marriage was any kind of litmus test or considering factor. Gay "marriage" has nothing to do w/ the military or don't-ask-don't-tell or anything related to that. Presidential use of the bully pulpit to push for any kind of action constituationally with regard to gay marriage is basically nil.

It's all just you shooting for the hip, hoping for something - anything - that can back up your position that it is now "HUGE" for Presidents...

Not from what I last read. He said that "States can enact laws, blah, blah... But marriage is between a man and a woman."

I saw it just last night on the tube. I'll see if I can find a video later... Unless somebody adds one before I get to it.

Nope he supports a constitutional amendment.

wow...you really are naive. you have no clue if a president would not pick someone if they were opposed to gay marriage. it may not make headlines, but you can bet it is a factor. claiming it isn't really shows you're clueless on political issues.

gay marriage is a factor regarding the military. i seriously can't believe you think the president can't use the bully pulpit to push for any kind of action regarding gay marriage. you once again show you're clueless about politics. obama's change of stance is the first for any president. it will have a factor if he uses his influence to change people's minds. you don't give the president enough credit in using the bully pulpit.

others also recognize the risk obama took changing his stance. that is a huge issue onceler. you also keep "forgetting" DOMA.

I can "bet it's a factor?" It's not. Trust me. When it comes to SCOTUS, it's just not.

Hypothetical nothings. It's a big topic of conversation, but policy-wise, completely inconsequential. And that was my point, btw.

that is your opinion and you're entitled to it. it was even mentioned during one of obama's nom's....but go ahead and pretend it doesn't exist. go and pretend that gay marriage is a non issue.

keep running with that one.

I just saw a breaking news story about Romney bullying a gay kid when he was younger, oops!

Wow... desperation on the Dems... he bullied a kid in 1965... yeah, that is real relevant to the election. So glad the media was able to break this riveting story.

When was the last time someone's youth wasn't discussed in an election...whether it's DUI's, not inhaling, cocaine, "palling around w/ terrorists," etc.

If Romney was the school thug, for many, that will speak to his character....

People do stupid shit in high school and college that they later regret. To say it speaks to his character today is incorrect. Especially given the differences in society overall from 1965 to today.

Yup, I saw it also. There might be more to the timing of Preisdent Obama's anouncement than we thought. This Bullying gay people thing might break open.

if it is true...romney needs to speak about it. it does go to character and if he is not the same character, he needs to explain it.
