Thank you, now we may proceed...

In fact, Obama has not “evolved”—he has changed his position whenever his political fortunes required him to do so. Running for the Illinois state senate from a trendy area of Chicago in 1996, he was for gay marriage. “I favor legalizing same-sex marriages,” he wrote in answer to a questionnaire back then. In 2004, he was running for the U.S. Senate and needed to appeal to voters statewide. So he evolved, and favored civil unions but opposed homosexual “marriage.” In 2008, running for president, he said, “I believe marriage is between a man and a woman. I am not in favor of gay marriage.” Now in 2012, facing a tough reelection campaign where he needs energized supporters of gay “marriage” and has disappointed them with his refusal to give them his support, he is for it. To paraphrase John Kerry, he was for it before he was against it before he was for it again.

Can't quite shake that fast enough, eh Mr. President?

As the article points out, Obama may have had an unintentional slip of the ego...

“I have to tell you that over the course of several years as I talked to friends and family and neighbors, when I think about members of my own staff who are in incredibly committed monogamous relationships, same-sex relationships, who are raising kids together; when I think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained, even now that ‘don't ask, don't tell’ is gone, because they are not able to commit themselves in a marriage, at a certain point I've just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married.”

interesting...

Just providing the daily amusement for you clowns... thought it comical given Obama's recent comments on Romney having 'etch-a-sketch' moments. :)

The comment of fighting on his behalf, shows just how big of an ass clown your messiah is.

How many times do I have to tell you? He's not MY messiah. He's OUR messiah - yours too. He will save you even if you resist.

nope... us agnostics are doomed to walk the earth whining and crying that we got left behind and don't get to float on clouds.

I find it interesting how close he and Romney are on the issue. The only difference is Romney thinks states should enact Civil Unions, Obama used to think, then didn't think, and now thinks, states should enact a change in the Marriage laws.

When I was a kid we sang a song at church called, "I'm Going Up In The Rapture"... in the song it said, "My feet will leave the ground, and I'll be with Jesus in the aaaaiiiirrr"... I always thought it was "My feet won't leave the ground..." until my sister mocked that out of me. A friend of mine thought it was tractor... "I'm going up in a tractor"... That was awesome...

We also sang another song... It went "Ho, ho, ho, ho sanna... " I thought it was "Ho, ho, ho, ho Santa"...

I was never able to figure out why we'd be singing about Santa at church...

I thought I read that Romney is against unions, as well...

Not from what I last read. He said that "States can enact laws, blah, blah... But marriage is between a man and a woman."

I saw it just last night on the tube. I'll see if I can find a video later... Unless somebody adds one before I get to it.

Just curious how those of you who served in the military look at the above...

In a way, given he is CIC (not to mention US citizen), I can understand his comment to a degree.

I wouldn't fight on behalf of the President. I fought on behalf of America, an idea not a person. Just like I never would fight on "behalf" of one of the officers...

I may fight on his orders, but not on his "behalf"...

Just an FYI - making any hay out of the 'on my behalf' stuff is just ODS. It's pretty nitpicky to anyone not suffering from that form of derangement...
