I have no problem with a former politician cashing in and taking a cushy job as a director at an investment bank and earning $1 million per year to do next to nothing while getting limo service to and from work, taking helicopter rides to the five boroughs and having breakfast every morning at the Regency Hotel and getting regular pedicures, but if you're going to do that you probably shouldn't think about running for public office again or expecting to win -- even if the few potential future constituents you meet in your cloistered existence say you should run for office.

And this isn't really why I loathe Harold Ford, but it just encapsulates the essence of Harold Ford and why I think he's an ass.



Adding: The bit about "capitalism" is also just a smidge too much coming from a guy that collects $1 million for doing next to nothing from a firm that would likely have gone belly up absent a bail out from the government. So, yeah, fuck him.
