the bankruptcy court could have rewritten the debt obligation for pensions, voided the bond payments (which was done anyway) and left ownership in the hands of the shareholders who already had it.......

What would have happened to all the jobs? You are always complaining that unemployment is far too high under the Obama regime.

probably the same thing that happened to lots of other companies that were restructured in bankruptcy court......the people went back to work.....

like i said. not for certain. i believe bankruptcy would have worked out. you believed in tarp.

neither of us know for sure. what we do know, is that tarp is working now. anything else is pure speculation. would the country have been better off without bailing out gm etc...it is the what if. i find the 'what if' questions to be a waste of time and energy, for the most part. the reality is, the companies are doing fine now. that is it. in my mind.

why waste time with: well they could have done better....or....if this happened....or....waste of time and life. imo. tarp worked. i was wrong about it. but i have no problem with that. if you are never wrong, you are certainly never right. think about it.
