Lead by example...

Presidents Regan, Bush I, and Bush II called for reduced spending, yet they collected there salary from the government. Was that a lack in leadership?

It would depend on whether they called for people to be forced to work for free, but were unwilling to themselves. Did they propose legislation that would force others to work for free but were unwilling to take that step themselves? If such were the case, they would be hypocrites.

Damo said... "If you are unwilling to do what you believe should be the action of others, you are literally participating in hypocrisy."

Again I ask, where did the President suggest or say that he belived people should pay more into the treasury than the law requires?

He has stated that it was the right thing to do. If it is morality he is worried about as that suggests then he should do it even while he works to force others to do the same.

Uh huh. So, do you still think "organizing a coalition" and "fighting on the front lines" are the exact same action?

It would depend on whether Obama called for people to voluntarily pay extra, but was unwilling to do so himself. Did he propose legislation that would force others to pay more but was unwilling to pay more himself, if the law so required?

How much extra did you send in?Pretty easy to spend other's money.

He said that paying more than you are legally required is the right thing to do?

He said that paying more than you are legally required is the right thing to do?

He said that it was immoral for the rich to pay less than 30%, that "it's only right" that the rich should pay more with even a stress on the 30% number. Why did he not do the right thing and lead others to do the same while working towards a solution that would force the rest to do the same?

What military role does the President hold?

Why does that matter, in the context of your assertion? Again - "If you are unwilling to do what you believe should be the action of others, you are literally participating in hypocrisy."

Wanna try again?

You don't think the deficit matters?

We've been through this. Cutting spending and increasing the tax base by getting people jobs is the only solution to the deficit. Since I do not propose it, and think it is the wrong thing to do, where would the hypocrisy lie if I do not do this?

You know he did not mean that the rich should voluntarily do that, but that the law should require it. You are being disengenous to try and say he is not a good leader. If you aint got anything better than this example, you are in bad shape.

I know he believes it is immoral for them to pay less, but does it anyway.

you should probably just give up. i've tried to show him his error, but he is so deeply invested in this false analogy that he can't let it go. he will never admit he is wrong in this.

Sure thing. I'm sure that's exactly why Damo avoided my follow up question, which was based 100% on his assertion.
