They have silenced the radicals in there party and nominated a moderate non-wacko who is reasonable and can work with the liberals if elected.

My estimation of the Republican party as a whole has increased dramatically!
 
They failed horribly. In a year when the economy is still bad and the Dem is extremely vulnerable, they nominated one of the most wishy washy & weak candidates in years.

The 2-party system is failing.

Like the sig, btw.
 
I totally forgot Dixie said that. That is right up there with his rant about how pinheads don't even know what's coming regarding Sarah Palin. Didn't he used to call her Saracudda or something? It's all so awesome.

To be clear, the bar that you have set for the Republican party is "not crazy enough to nominate Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, Rick Perry, Herman Cain or Michele Bachmann." That seems like a pretty damn low bar.

Also, that idea that the nomination of Mitt (begrudgingly, I might add) has "silenced the radicals" is insane. I'd love to believe it, but it just ain't going to happen.

Jarod, we all know that A: you're voting Obama no matter what, and B: Romney is white Obama. So you're congratulating the Republican party for nominating a guy who is the exact same as his opponent. Onceler is right, th two 'party' system has failed, because there is now only one party. And people like you celebrate that.

I believe president Obama is a good president so of course I'm happy the Republicans nominated someone so similar.

That is where I belive you are wrong. Bush did lots of things this president would never do. The war in Iraq, Cutting spending while fighting a war, cutting taxes on the uber rich while keeping a great burden on the middle class, loosening regulations on energy providers while limiting stem cell research....

Thats just a taste, but lying to the American people about justification for sending troops to die in Iraq was unforgivable.

Bush did cut everyones taxes, unprecidented for a time of war, but he did it in a way that was disproportonant for the middle class.

He cut everyone's taxes in 2001 before we were in any wars. And cutting everyone's taxes is disproportionate to the middle class? If he had decided to not cut taxes for the rich and poor would the middle class have received any more money?
 
Obama just signed onto a major piece of deregulatory legislation, and while involving a sector other than energy, that kind of shoots holes in another of Jarod's claims.

Some things should be deregulated, energy is not one of them. I belive in lots of deregulation.
 
President Obama is not a science denier, he does not give lip service to dangerous ignorant ideas, he did not run a campaign on wedge issues. He did not exploit ignorance and prejudice to get elected.

Obama has more charisma than Romney and is far more comfortable around people. He seems more real and genuine than Romey. Romney reminds me of a lifetime, cardboard cut out. Romey always acts like he is trying too hard. A bad actor!
