AP: More Drilling Hasn't Dropped Gas Prices

hilarious coming from the guy who routinely tells people to go look things up because you don't do their homework for them....

oklahoma

happy now? did we turn that frown into a smile?

Oklahoma is a region? I always thought it was a state. Apparently you were unaware that New Jersey has cheaper gas than Oklahoma and, as far as "regions" are concerned, the mountain west region actually has the lowest prices:

Here's a map:

And, for the record, I could do all the homework in the world and not know what region you were referring to without you actually telling me what region you were referring to. That's why I asked you.

no, newestLegion, my information isn't false, though your implication is....it is true that US oil production is up.....the result of projects that went ahead during that window from July, 2008 and February, 2009.......just think how much higher it would be if Obama hadn't reinstated the restrictions.....

So the government was wrong to step in after the Gulf spill, PiMP?

We've seen how the oil companies take care of the environment.

You still haven't explained how more domestic production = lower gas prices.

Domestic production is the highest it's been in years, and so are prices.

1. a region could be a county. don't be stupid. a region could be the western portion of a state. :palm:

2. apparently fox got that wrong.

3. perhaps you shouldn't be so snippet in telling others to do their homework. you could have figured it out by where obama gave the speech. it is hilarious you don't like it when it is dished back to you.

o'rly?

The aim is to deal with excess supply that is keeping gasoline prices in this region low but high elsewhere.

"Producing more oil and gas here at home has been, and will continue to be, a critical part of our all-of-the-above strategy," Obama said standing in front of thousands of pipes that will eventually help transport a glut of oil from Cushing to the Texas side of the Gulf of Mexico.

This one makes me laugh. They didn't need his approval to do this, and it was going to be done regardless. This is a classic jump in front of the parade and pretend they are cheering for you....

How so? The US is drilling more now than it did under Bush, yet prices are high. Care to explain?

demand is higher too.....of course, what you don't want to admit is that oil production in lands that the President DOES have authority over is down 40%.........and don't ask for a cite, it was given to you on another one of your threads and as usual you didn't have the balls to respond to it.....

Where is demand "higher", PiMP?

Hint: it's not in America, so a lot of the bumper crop of domestic oil is being sold elsewhere...as usual, you make a spurious claim, insist you're proven it elsewhere, and pwn yourself.

America is at an oil crossroads, emotionally and financially. We can continue griping about gasoline and maintain false hopes of controlling crude oil prices. Or we can face the truth, stop subsidizing oil with hard-earned taxpayer dollars, and abandon extreme efforts in search of new oil supplies. Surviving $4 gasoline depends on sipping oil and providing fuel substitutes, not subsidizing and promoting petroleum production.

As the world's largest oil consumer, home to a transportation system that is a whopping 94 percent dependent on oil, the United States is precariously positioned.

Conventional thinking--the more we drill at home, the better off we'll be--is dangerously misguided.

No matter where in the world oil is found, the price is tied to the global market.

Moreover, much of the heavier new oil supplies found in the western hemisphere yield diesel and fuel oil that is destined primarily for export markets.

New heavier oils are not well suited for consumption by American cars and jets.

So drilling closer to home will do much more to pad the oil industry's deep pockets than bring down prices at the pump.

LOL, PiMP has been trying to convince himself that Obama is to blame for high gas prices. Now he discovers the truth - global demand has swallowed increased US oil production and that's one big reason gas prices are high

PiMP claims Obama hasn't allowed more than one lease auction....PiMP pwned....again:

LOL, pwning PiMP is so easy.

lol....
All parcels considered for offer at the May 2012 Oil and Gas Lease Sale will be deferred to a later sale

two of the other three links refer to the same sale in July, 2011....
ah, the December 2011 sale of Gulf leases did occur, the first since 2009.....so two lease auctions in three years.....

So your claim that Obama only allowed one auction was false.
