I think the problem there is that lots of folks are coming out of the public school system believing that science HAS proved creation impossible......the atheists have no problem with teaching things which don't stand up to the standards of a theory to be unassailable fact....stop THAT from happening and we will be on even ground, otherwise teach ID as an equivalent explanation.......we both are concerned with future discoveries....the one you won't take into account is that perhaps somebody DID it......

I've heard a good many arguments for ID, and I have never heard any of them claim it "fills in the holes" of science. I agree, that statement IS retarded... which is why I think you probably came up with that all on your own. And it seems to be YOU who is failing to take into account future discoveries, you did ask... Where is the evidence to support God guiding evolution? This indicates you need evidence to believe something is scientifically possible. Also, you seem to want to believe that science, an understanding of our physical world, can somehow provide explanations and evidence for things associated with a non-physical world. Like I said before, it's really no less bigoted than believing your religion has all the answers and science is bunk.

excellent point....they admit there are "holes" which can mean nothing except that there are things for which there is no evidence......they accuse us of filling those holes with religion, yet they fill the same holes with faith in "future discoveries"......

Exactly, and they tend to also believe 'discoveries' to be The Gospel, even though these 'discoveries' are often later disproved or found to be inaccurate... they just alter their conclusions to accommodate the new findings and keep on trucking! Again, I would like to point out, it's only been about 500 years since 'science discovered' the earth was not flat. Before that discovery was made, the general belief was, the earth was flat and it was thought to be impossible for the earth to be round. Now imagine... if these same science worshiping idiots were around back then, they would be mocking us and laughing at us for believing the earth could be round!
