1) I never stated it had a chance of passing. That was NOT the fucking point. The fucking point is that these two liberal fucking morons have taken the next step in the pro-abortion argument. 2) This had nothing and I DO MEAN NOTHING to do with the issue you wish to discuss. NOTHING. No, it is not moron. This is about the slippery slope of liberals trying to define subjectively when a child becomes a 'person' who should be protected by basic human rights. This is about two liberals who are suggesting it should be ok to murder newborns.

That is NOT women's health. Not in the least. Pretending abortion is about 'women's health' is also a stretch, because in most cases it is NOT about the health of the mother. It is about the convenience. It is about avoiding responsibility for one's actions. But very very few abortions are done due to the health of the mother.

okay Sf, and I took this opportunity to say that I don't give a flying f what two morons in any part of the world are wanking off to. Never going to happen. And the "moral outrage" expressed by yourself, Damo, and STY, three libertarians who i have seen express no alarm towards the dehumanizing of women by the right wing and the attempt to strip us of some of our rights (giving our employers or owners veto power over whether our taking birth control is okay with them), was a bit much for me.

I'm well versed in academic ethicist arguments. It's always been wanking and I have read stranger things than this. Some of it is even funny. I save my outrage for real world events.

Actually, they are extending the liberal view and justifications for killing UNBORN children and including NEW BORNS with the same 'logic'

Take a look at the 'justifications' they give in the OP. Then take a look at any of the abortion threads on this board and you will find the EXACT same 'logic' being used. That is why liberals don't want to discuss the OP. Because they recognize their own logic being used to dehumanize children.

You have made certain pronouncements about how evil the idea of killing a newborn is and I agree with you. Meanwhile, you hold the view that a fertilized egg, regardless of its stage of development is a child. You also hold the view that only fertilized eggs that should be granted basic human rights are those that are implanted in the uterus. So, basically, you hold the view that certain children are not entitled to basic human rights. According to your own beliefs vis a vis what is a "child" and which "children" are entitled to basic human rights, to me you don't seem too far off from these ethicists from a moral perspective.

I don't think you are barbaric at all. I think you think you are barbaric but you refuse to recognize it.

You think you have this very neat and clean position that permits you to be severely judgmental towards others but if you actually look really hard at your various positions you're position is neither neat or clean and from a moral perspective is not all that much different from what these ethicists have said. According to your own moral code, there are children that you think it is OK to treat as less than human.
