If Mittens can win mod/ind vote..why isn't he?

Whoa, hold on... that was Janis Joplin, as I recall... and she is no right-winger.

Yeah, I think it's kind of a fundamental yearning of mankind, to be free. LOL

What a convoluted load of horse crap! So let me see if I have this straight... you want all states to have open primaries, where my side can elect your extremists and your side can elect mine, and this will somehow get all of these people out of government? LOLOLOL

Let's be clear here, the closest thing to an "extremist" in the GOP primary, is Ron Paul. I don't even think he qualifies, he's just a bit quirky. The REAL "extremists" in government at this time, is the Marxist Socialist administration in power.
Dixie, if you think Obama is anything but a left leaning centrist then you need to pass me what you're smoking so I can have some! LOL

santorum doesn't have broad appeal you moron. that's why he got slammed with moderates. the only reasons liberals voted for him is because he's a weaker candidate. otherwise he wouldn't have lost so much with moderates. that's the ONLY reason he got democrats to vote for him.

But I didn't know you like voting for the democrats candidate dixie. How does that make you feel. You like having the dems tell you what to do? :)

BTW I consider your reply above a total surrender. Normal delusional dixie goes on a huge nonsensical rant. You basically put the bare minimum in to save face. Glad you secretly see things my way.

Again.. EITHER candidate is a weak candidate against Obama, according to most liberals. So I fail to see how the motivation is there for liberals to pull off an 'operation chaos' type move, and apparently, they didn't. You don't KNOW why people voted for Santorum! The information you posted, says that Santorum got most of the "democrat/indie" vote and Romney got more "moderate GOP" vote. In the GENERAL, the trick will be to appeal to the "democrat/indie" voter, assuming the "moderate GOP" is going to support either Romney or Santorum over Obama. Perhaps this is too complicated to wrap your little head around?

I honestly think you have a mental disorder at this point. No one is this stupid. You can't see someone lose moderates by 14 points and claim they are good with moderates over the other guy and be a normal human being.

SANTORUM GOT BUTTRAPED WITH MODERATES ARE YOU FUCKING STUPID?

30% more independents and democrats voted for Santorum.

Moderate Republicans are not likely going to vote for Obama over Santorum.

the data is very clear. If he had broad appeal he wouldn't have been crushed with moderates. he was. That's why the data is relevant. If you get the most conservative, and most liberal, but are crushed with moderates, then the only conclusion is liberals voted for someone they KNOW is weaker.

Santorum is obviously the weaker candidate. you are fucking stupid. Alabama retard.

Yes Dixie most liberals do think Obama will win in the fall but in my observation they also realize it is not guaranteed so they will be involved in the campaign and have a vested interest in who the Republican candidate is.

My observations while living in the heart of liberal country. They don't like Romney because 1) he is a Republican 2) he is a rich Republican who will only look out for the 1%.
They don't like Santorum because 1) he is a Republican 2) he is basically the anti-Christ - his comments/positions on birth control and the role of the church in government drive people off a cliff here. We often hear the term out of touch used. Well many here consider out of touch not sufficient enough to describe Santorum.

So the general belief here is Obama would beat Romney he would landslide Santorum. Thus you see why the Democrats went to the polls to support Santorum in Michigan.

30% DEMOCRATS. NOT INDEPENDENTS.

THERE IS NO DATA SHOWING INDEPENDENTS WENT FOR SANTORUM you MOUTHBREATHER.

dixie, you are either a 9 year running troll, have an iq of 70, or you have a mental disorder. I guess I shouldn't bother with you anymore.

Did the thought ever cross anyones mind that the liberals were voting for Satinorum because he was the least likely to beat President Obama?

Satin = fabric... Why do you hate fabric so much? Is it because of the Old Testament?

"...Do not wear material woven of two kinds of material." (Leviticus 19:19)

Santorum losing by 14% of the moderate vote to Romney is not a big surprise to anyone, is it? I guess I am surprised he didn't lose by 98% of the moderate vote to Romney, since Romney is supposedly the one who appeals to moderates! Isn't it kind of surprising Santorum apparently did get some moderates to vote for him?

And again, with the reasoning you are applying to why people voted for Santorum.... You don't fucking know why! Maybe they heard Santorum give a speech and decided, being the independent-minded people they are, that this was the man they wanted to support in November? Can you speak for all these voters and why they cast their vote? The bottom line is, we don't know WHY people voted for Santorum, but they did, and he came away with half the delegates, against the candidate who is supposed to have such a broad appeal with the very same voters.

Now you'll continue to argue that dems voted for Santorum only because he is the "weaker" candidate against an invincible Obama, but that logic would mean, dems are scared shitless of Romney and are desperate to get Santorum nominated so they can have a chance at a win. I prefer to think, different people vote for different reasons, and Santorum was able to sway enough support from democrats and independents, as well as some moderates... the proof is in the result, which should have clearly been a wop-sided victory for Mittens.

The data posted shows Santorum and Romney split the Indie vote 34/35 respectively. Virtually a tie. Again, dispelling the myth that Romney is somehow more appealing to Independent voters. It seems Santorum gets just as many as Romney, while also pulling in a whopping 30% advantage with Democrats.

How'd things go in Florida among independents as between Romney and Santorum? Arizona? New Hampshire? Nevada? South Carolina?

Clearly you don't understand anything. Those liberals voted for Santorum because he motivated them. They like him. They will vote for him over Obama.

Maybe we should let ditzie know about the Special Olympic Winter Games at Copper Mountain this weekend. If you all chip in for his airfare, I will make sure he doesn't hit too many trees. But he has to stick to Alpine, because that is where I am helping.

and Ditzie... if you show up with a snow board, I will send you down a double black tree run.

It's interesting to note; SF knows exactly where and when the Winter Special Olympics are! Guess it's such a special event for your type, huh?
