If Mittens can win mod/ind vote..why isn't he?

While I personally wouldn't mind if this site went under and I was able to get away from my addiction here I agree about the need for new blood. It is fun to develop a rapport with people over time but you also get to know each other so well you pretty much know where they stand on everything. New people and ideas liven the place up.

It was fun when you used to drink & post. What happened to that? Are you cleaning up or something?

I feel the same way. It's too easy to avoid work, I get a lot more done when I'm not here. I don't know why message boards are addictive, political ones anyway, but for me they are too. I wouldn't move on to another one if this one died. This would be it for me. I never found blogs addictive. I spent a very short period of time there when I left here. It really was a good thing. But yeah, it definitely gets boring. There used to be a lot, and I mean, a lot, more people here.

Trying not to (clean up). I have made a concerted effort recently to avoid the computer when I come home drunk. I used to dread waking up Sat/Sun mornings and reading what I don't remember writing from the night before. This is only a phase that i'm sure will pass. I'll post something stupid soon I'm sure and then be embarrassed to come back to the board for a week.

Part of the glory days for sure. For me it was never the same after Tiana didn't have time or access or whatever, to be able to post here anymore. And Ornot, usc...

Really miss LadyT. IHG was a good poster too, but as you said, there have been many.

I hope this place doesn't get to be like Fullpolitics was in the "last days" before it changed format. I remember going to the site & a new poster was introducing him/herself; bravo (then alpha) had responded with a "welcome to the zoo." I went back a few days later, and that was still the most recent post on the site...

I thought I was done with political boards after the Rate Bush Board on AOL died but then Superfreak's ex Cypress brought me here.

Oh, it was some of the better moments on the board, they were priceless, I loved them and sorry to hear you are acting responsibly.

I am glad to hear I am not the only one who drinks and posts. I am with Onceler, I think we should have a night of drinking and posting. Sounds delightful! Could be hilarious.

LMAO

Agreed. But I have to say, nothing will ever, ever, match the early days of the bush board. To me anyway. Maybe it was just where i was at in my life at that time (almost definitely), but God I loved that place.

Socrates used to post more, as did AnyoldIron and Charver. Don't see them much these days. Fresh blood would be nice.

Yes, that really was a great time.

I would be hesitant to participate, but definitely into observing that!

Just one martini...

Just one...
