While that could have something to do with the resurgence (still odd that no numbers were actually given), my guess is that it has more to do with the rising hispanic population. The 'fear' of the 'minority' gaining ground to the point of whites becoming the statistical minority.

In the context of what we were discussing they are old. Keep in mind also that there were only about 35-36 states at the end of the civil war. So the klan has a longer history and is older than most states. Including CO... the state we were discussing.
