CA passes "fun tax" -f'ing liberal moonbats

Nope...I just noticed the gross inaccuracy of the headline and your idiotic willingness to run with it despite it's being wrong.

Gross inaccuracy? The headline of the article said you could have a fine of $1,000 for playing football or frisbee on the beach. It turns out that the max fine may be $500? Is that really a gross inaccuracy? The whole point of the article is the city council said a person can be fined for playing football or frisbee on the beach. That's what drew (sp) a response from so many people. I haven't seen anyone say "oh well it's only a $500 fine instead of $1,000 so it's no big deal then".

Hey cawacko, just for giggles click on the link in the OP.

I did and it definitely made me giggle.

Edit: I've spent years in LA. There are people throwing a football or frisbee around year round on the beaches there. There's no Baywatch crew out there telling people to stop it. City council may want the ability to fine on the books but there's a reason so many people around LA and laughing at and mocking this ruling.

The fines are new- and the ordinance against digging holes in the sand is new as well. No more shovel and buckets for the kids. That you can't see that these laws are retarded is...well... retarded.

I am on their side regarding hole digging, there have been many incidents of holes caving in and burying people.

no you didn't.

Alright, just because I'm bored and don't want to do what I ought to be doing, what part are you having trouble with? The fact that the ordinance itself does not impose a fine of up to $1000 for violations of the ball-playing regulations? Or is it the fact that the section of the California code establishing penalties for infractions has a maximum fine of $500 for the third offense and all offenses thereafter within a year?

the link YOU gave only mentions fines up to a $1000 and or six months in jail. i did not find in YOUR link anything about a maximum fine of $500 or anything about incremental fines.

Did you read through the full thread? I thought SF posted something about it.

So . . . the second part. Yeah, take a look at SF's post which quote the relevant portion of the California Code.
