Well, just so you know, the original ordinance, which prohibited anything other than beach balls was enacted in 1970. This isn't a new thing.

i don't see a graduated fine increase, nor do i see your "unknown" claim.

Yes, that is news to me. Like I said, having grown up in CA and going to numerous beaches up and down the coast- people were always bringing balls and Frisbee to the beach. I read the link. Fines are a new thing with regards to balls and Frisbee and so is the "can't dig a hole" ordinance. I did appreciate the accurate info- and the author's tongue in cheek reference to the intelligence of such ordinances- so unlike the apologists posting in this thread.
