NYC killer gets 200 years in 2011 violence spree

And now we demonstrate why NY should get the death penalty. We're actually going to feed and house this guy instead of giving him a short drop and a sudden stop, deter crime, hang killers.

Rope costs more then a single shotgun shell.
One to the back of the head should suffice.

Ya but rope is reusable, though if you're going for true economy you go get yourself an axe, use it again and again and again. If we want to get "tough on crime" LETS GET SERIOUS

I had a really cool idea, that I think would reduce crime; after a while.

Take all the death row criminals, who have run out of appeals, and those who have such long sentences that they'll never ever leave prison.
Pick a time period; say between July 5th and December 31st.
Let them train in any kind of hand weapon they want. Axe, sword, knife, club, etc.

And then the following July 4th, you rent an enclosed football stadium, line the bottom row of stands with guards who have fully automatic weapons, bring out the prisoners/trainees, and let them fight to the death.
Then take the last man standing, crown him, and then hang him.

Televise it nationwide and I guarantee you that some idiot sitting at home, planning on robbing and possibly killing someone, will see this.
After watching some hulking axe murder wail on a public accountant who poisoned his entire family and I guarantee you that the potential criminal who was planning the robbery and possible murder, will put down his weapon and decide that maybe working at the car wash isn't such a bad idea after all.

Two years of this and the majority of violent crime will more then likely drop down to 1% of where it is now.

I"m tired of paying for murderers, rapists, child molesters, and such to have 3 hots and a cot.
