Walker to face recall

Hallelujah...only roughly 500K signatures required...they got 1 mil.+ LOL.

Yeah... big surprise... 355k union members in WI... They each get three-four non-union friends to sign and bam... 1.9 million. Still, getting about a third of the state to sign is impressive.

There has been an attempt to impeach every California Governor. Now Gray Davis is the only one to my knowledge where they actually got enough signatures to put it to the ballot for a vote but every previous Governor has had a small fringe try. I don't think it prevents top people from running though. If it became a cycle where every elected Governor was getting recalled then I would agree that could be a problem.

Yeah... Meg Whitman still ran... yet the moronic people in CA still elected Moonbeam. So even if you DO get a good candidate, your fellow Californians will still fuck your state over.

1.9 million VETTED signatures, LOL

Right now, volunteers from counties all across Wisconsin are turning in more than 1.9 million signatures to recall Scott Walker, Rebecca Kleefisch and their right-wing cronies in the state legislature.

Umm... the signatures are not VETTED as of yet. While I have no doubt they have more than enough to force the recall, do get your facts straight.

what message would that be? that the minority can hold up the will of the people?

Do you mean the will of the people or the will of the corporate overlords?

Individuals have a right to organize into a cohesive unit, just like corporations have their little cartels and chambers of commerce.

The signature are vetted.

LOL

i don't know where you get your news....but the GAB has not vetted the signatures. also, with legal challenges, even if the GAB vets the signatures, the signatures will not actually be vetted until the legal challenges are adjudicated.

no doubt, but just as law enforcement unions shouldn't be able to influence the will of the people by opposing the implementation of laws restoring freedom and rights, so shouldn't labor unions force onerous rules and regulations that drive jobs out of the country.

Yeah, I agree. Unless he's the Democratic Governor of California...then it's okay.

But let's not be hasty and recall any Republicans. That could set a precedent.
...and you saw what happened to California? It was a bad precedent. Impeachment I agree with. If an elected offician has committed a crime then the should be subject to the impeachment process but looking down the road I see recall as being harmfull to the democratic process. This is a sword that can cut both ways and not to the publics good.

That's my concern. That this could become a pattern or cycle to use your term. That would not be good.

What I see is Republicans using every tool at their fingertips, including impeachment, to overturn elections and p-word dems running around saying what you are saying here.

I'm of the mind, start the truck and mow down anyone in your way. Unless you want to surrender. Those are your choices in our current political system. I understand there are girls who want to clutch their pearls about it, but I'd be the one driving the truck. That's my view of it.

You do have a good point. I've long argued that the most important advancement to be gained from Stem Cell research is to use the technology to grow Democrats a new spine. Maybe this is indication that they finally discovered that they have one after all.

BTW, Remind me not to jaywalk when you're driving. ;)

Dumbass Ohioan. She is a FEMALE NYC driver... the SAFEST place to be is in the middle of the street.

It's not a freedom to suppress the rights of other individuals to organize.
