Mrs. Santorum

Hilarious. I guess it never struck you that we were both in agreement on what the Church said about exceptions re: abortion, and that i criticized the Phoenix bishop who didn't abide by the Church teaching.

what has struck me is the fact our bored liberals have claimed the Santorums are hypocrites when in fact our bored liberals have misrepresented by Catholics do in fact believe about abortions in the event of problems with the health of the mother......

the consistent refusal of our bored liberals to deal with the situation honestly tells me two things about our bored liberals.....they are dishonest, they are tasteless......

do not try to pretend now that you were in fact correct on this issue.....

Please, I barely commented on the issue. At least try to be honest about that.

I've always been correct that santorum is a hypocritical, lying sack of dung, and I wait with bated breath for him to get the nomination so all his phoniness will become front-page news.

I would think the bored liberals who charged that Catholic doctors would let their patients die are the bigots

Frankly, I don't know why that's so hard for you to believe. The Phoenix bishop would have let a woman die, despite what the Church teaches . And as far as doctors, you only have to go back to the 90s to find examples of doctors who let AIDS patients die. Do you really think there aren't doctors who'd take Pope John Paul's words to heart and refuse to help a mortally-ill woman if it involved abortion?

"...in 1995 Pope John Paul II declared that the Church’s teaching on abortion "is unchanged and unchangeable. Therefore, by the authority which Christ conferred upon Peter and his successors . . . I declare that direct abortion, that is, abortion willed as an end or as a means, always constitutes a grave moral disorder, since it is the deliberate killing of an innocent human being. This doctrine is based upon the natural law and upon the written word of God, is transmitted by the Church’s tradition and taught by the ordinary and universal magisterium. No circumstance, no purpose, no law whatsoever can ever make licit an act which is intrinsically illicit, since it is contrary to the law of God which is written in every human heart, knowable by reason itself, and proclaimed by the Church" (Evangelium Vitae 62).

Abortion may be your hot-button issue but it doesn't mean the rest of us are blind to what people will do to justify their beliefs.

Abortion facts.

Third trimester abortions- abortions beyond 24 weeks account for about 1% of abortions. The way that pro abortion advocates play with the number is in the second trimester those abortions that occur between 12 and 24 weeks. These abortions account for 9%.

The facts of the matter are that those third term abortions are not necessary to save the mother- EVER. How can this be? Simple, these babies are viable. They can be delivered cesarean section. Second term abortions are where the statistical information shows that less then 1% of these abortions are medically necessary to save the life of the mother.

What Rick Santorum believes about life is not radical or out of the ordinary- At least 61% of the population thinks abortion is wrong and should be legal in only a few circumstances. Santorum is in a minority position within that group - about 40% who believe it is wrong in the case of rape- less then 2% of abortions are provided for cases of rape and incest. Most rape cases where pregnancy may have occurred do go unknown, since most women opt for a rape kit at the hospital where they are treated and examined after a reported rape.

For him to ask "if we do not execute the rapist how can we morally kill the child who has committed no crime?" Is perfectly consistent with his position.

97% of abortions are performed for purely self serving reasons. Rick Santorum believes, as do 61% of Americans, that the unborn child within is a human life and thereby should be protected by the Constitution.

Hey, dick nose, yeah you.

The American people have the right to believe whatever they want. If people believe abortion is killing a human being, then learn to deal with it. You're not God. People like you who ever get one little piece of power are dangerous. It's people who are bigoted towards Christians that is the threat to our freedom, not people like the Santorum's, lying cocksucker.

Dick nose? Perfectly descriptive of her schnoz!

Yes, and I'm bigoted against creamed spinach, Limberger cheese, and Lutefisk.

I said the Pope doesn't speak for all Christians and that is a fact. Deal with it.

I never said the Pope speaks for all Christians but don't let the facts get in the way of your rant. santorum's views were under discussion, santorum is a Catholic, santorum cares what the Pope says, and the discussion was about whether santorum's positions went against official Church teaching. So kindly take your sanctimonious posturing and stick it where the sun don't shine.

I win. Ignoring me is not gonna suddenly make you intelligent.

I've given you a chance to prove the claim that Catholic doctors let women die to save the life of a fetus.........you haven't done so......as to being blind......you're apparently blind to whether it's wrong to lie for political gain.....what you don't seem to realize is that when people are aware you're lying you don't actually gain......you just look like an ass.......

If abortion is prohibited in all cases except the possible death of the mother what degree of injury to the mother is permissible? Do we allow an incestuously fertilized cell to continue to develop into a baby knowing the resultant child will suffer genetic damage? What compassion is involved in allowing such a process to continue knowing the resultant child may live its life in an institution never realizing a normal family life and/or suffer due to its genetic damage? Realizing doctors have differing opinions should the decision involving the potential damage to the mother and resultant child be left up to just one doctor or a panel?

I have to give Santorum his due as he realizes IF fertilized cells/zygotes/embryos/fetuses are human beings then no exception is justifiable that allows the deliberate killing of an innocent human being. In the vast majority of cases problem pregnancies are due to the faulty body of the woman. At least he’s coming clean which is more than most anti-abortionists do when they talk about exceptions.

It has to be an all-or-nothing decision; otherwise, it makes a mockery out of what it means to be a human being and the value we place on their life. As others have noted I hope he does get the nomination (although I doubt it). At least the people will have a clear choice.

Reading the link you posted the last sentence sums up what needs to be done. “Therefore, education regarding abstinence, contraceptive use and practices as well as access to and education regarding safe, effective, and affordable contraception and family-planning services might help reduce the incidence of unintended pregnancy and, therefore, the number of legal induced abortions in the United States.”

Remember the DUI campaign about 20-25 years ago? Billboards. TV and radio ads. Newspapers. I recall one ad on KING TV out of Seattle. It was a take-off of the Ginsu Knives commercials where the announcer kept saying, “There’s more”, and went on to talk about the arrest, the lawyers, impounding the car, etc, etc.

The point is where are the public service ads today regarding birth control? Maybe show a gal waking up at 3 am to a crying baby and an announcer asking if that looks like a good time. Or showing a young woman and her friends dropping by on a Friday night to ask her to join them for a night out and the camera pans to a baby in a carriage while she says, “I can’t. I don’t have a sitter.” The closing shot is of her sadly looking out the window as her friends are joyfully skipping down the walk away from the house.

Is the absence of a campaign due to a lack of money? Due to religious reasons? Due to some people being offended? Why aren’t there ads showing a pregnant young woman saying she is going to give the baby to an adoptive couple and the scene switching to a couple and a large country home with a few horses and manicured lawns? Any idea why not?

You're so steamed you can't remember which topic you argued with which poster. I suggest you go back and read the thread from the beginning before unloading another pile of drivel. The chronology of the posts, etc.
