Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman piled on criticism of Texas Rep. Ron Paul's past Thursday as he continued to hone his focus on New Hampshire with a new web ad.

In the one minute
, Huntsman questioned Paul's integrity.

As the rest of the 2012 field flocks to Iowa ahead of the Hawkeye State's Jan. 3 caucus, Huntsman remained solely trained on the Granite State's primary held seven days later, where he's been banking on a top finish.

Huntsman's ad targeted Paul, currently ranked second in a new CNN/Time/ORC International poll released Wednesday with 16% support among likely New Hampshire primary voters.

Nine percent of likely New Hampshire voters backed Huntsman in the poll, placing him fourth, behind Romney in first and Gingrich in third.

The ad begins with two spliced archival videos of the Texas congressman stating, "I deliver babies for a living but I also do an investment letter…it's called the 'Ron Paul Survival Report' and it covered a lot of what was going on in Washington."

The footage of Paul is followed by news coverage of racist and anti-gay statements written in several newsletters also bearing Paul's name.

When controversy over the contents of 1980s and 1990s newsletters written with his moniker reemerged recently, Paul dismissed criticism ...

After watching a few Paul videos I have to say I do like his ideas about less government and more freedom, HOWEVER, we have to remember when the Constitution was written people did not depend on others to the extent we do today. For example, 200 years ago people didn't have to worry about what food additives were in animal feed or whether food was genetically modified. Would the abolishment of the USDA result in people/companies adding excess amounts of growth hormone to prepare animals for slaughter sooner? Would that result in the people eating those meat products becoming giants or would it result in cancers throughout the population?

strange things about the shit you're saying. for example, if a company that is regulated by the FDA or the USDA sells a product that is later determined to be 'out of regulation', or modified, does the USDA or FDA incur a penalty of any kind?

anyone find it odd that every liberal on this board discredited anything that newt, romney, santorum, and bachmann had spew out of their mouths, but they are all over these out of context newsletter sentences from some ancient campaign?

i used to like ron paul, i did not agree with with all of his politics, but i like his outspokenness

until i found out about his newsletters

now he is anathema

Aren't products withdrawn? When produce was shown to have been infected they were withdrawn from the market.

So people should be permitted to add whatever they want to foods? Handle foods in an unsanitary manner? Feed animals drugs that are passed on to people?

that doesn't answer my question. IF the FDA and USDA are entities responsible for ensuring we have safe food to buy at grocery stores, what happens to the FDA/USDA when E coli outbreaks occur?

They have to explain to Congress and the media why they failed and submit a plan to do better in the future.

Then people like you complain about "burdensome government regulation" on agribusiness.

How come you don't know that?

so 1 or 100 people could die, and the USDA/FDA secretary gets to tell congress that their budget had been cut so they were short on personnel and if you don't want things like this to happen again, just give us more money........and that's it?

so what benefit do we get from them again?
