Go Ahead, Make Our Day

The bible says whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. There is no scripture that states whosoever shall call on the Catholic Church shall be saved.

Are you saying that none of those who call on the name of the Lord to be saved belong to churches?

Nope. Scripture tells us. You still haven't answered this.......Jesus said in Matthew 19 that marriage is a man and a woman....a man shall leave his mother and cling to his wife and they shall become one flesh... Is Jesus a bigot?
You still haven't answered when Jesus stopped being a Jew and a Rabbi.

Jesus does not say "marriage is a man and a woman", Failias. Are you blaspheming?

The question was who saves you, not if you belong to a church. Are you sure you're equipped to handle this? I have my doubts. You've left so many questions unanswered.

When did Jesus cease being a Jew?

It's true that Arafat was born in Cairo, however his father came from Gaza and his mother from Jerusalem. Holy shit, Jews that have lived in Europe for a 1000 years claim to have a prima facie right to live in Judea and Samaria, yet evicted Palestinians or whatever you choose to call them have no rights?

He's parroting the Gingrich line that Palestinians were an "invented" people. I guess the Saudis, Jordanians and Syrians were, too. The borders in that region were often in a state of flux.

You're not doing too well today. I'm quoting a Palestinian who belonged to the PLO. Maybe it's nap time.

Way back on March 31, 1977, the Dutch newspaper Trouw published an interview with Palestine Liberation Organization executive committee member Zahir Muhsein. Here's what he said:

"The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct "Palestinian people" to oppose Zionism.

For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan."

A true Christian believes the scriptures.

So when did Jesus cease being a Jew and when did he cease being a Rabbi?

Catholics believe the Scriptures. Do you think they don't?

Why are you asking me about completely different subjects than what's under discussion?

If they stopped practicing Judaism when they began to follow Jesus, then they stopped being Jews but remained Semites.

Your turn.

They may have kept their dietary laws and cultural traditions, but they were followers of Jesus. They blasphemed as Jews if they believed Jesus was God. Jews were stoned to death for being blasphemous. Christians were killed because they would not declare the Emporer god and therefore they were traitors to Rome. The former Jews turned Christian were hunted by Saul to condemn them for their blasphemy. It is all so fascinating, historically.

If you don't have an answer then just say "I don't know". Making stuff up is Rana's and Damocles job. Do any of you know what you're talking about?

In that passage Jesus says marriage is a man and a woman. Is Jesus a bigot?

In the passage Jesus was talking about divorce. If you want to interpret it to mean only heteros can marry, that's on you. Find me the passage where the Pharisees ask "Is it lawful for a man to take another man into marriage?" and Jesus responds, then we'll talk.

No doubt you would claim that the 700,000 people expelled from their land in 1947-8 were all invented as well? By the way, Zahir Muhsein was killed two years after making that statement.

Did Jesus say "marriage is a man and a woman"?

Jesus said they are born male and female....and a man shall leave his mother and cling to his wife and they shall become one flesh.

Jesus was specific....male and female. He didn't say a person shall leave their mother and cling to another person. He was specific.

That's the point. Jesus was specific. Jesus said they are born male and female.....and a man shall leave his mother and cling to his wife and thw two shall become one flesh.

I understand he's teaching on divorce. In order to divorce, you have to be married. He told us what marriage is and what divorce is.

So Jesus never said "marriage is a man and a woman"?

Is lying a sin?
