He's parroting the Gingrich line that Palestinians were an "invented" people. I guess the Saudis, Jordanians and Syrians were, too. The borders in that region were often in a state of flux.

Way back on March 31, 1977, the Dutch newspaper Trouw published an interview with Palestine Liberation Organization executive committee member Zahir Muhsein. Here's what he said:

"The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct "Palestinian people" to oppose Zionism.

For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan."

They may have kept their dietary laws and cultural traditions, but they were followers of Jesus. They blasphemed as Jews if they believed Jesus was God. Jews were stoned to death for being blasphemous. Christians were killed because they would not declare the Emporer god and therefore they were traitors to Rome. The former Jews turned Christian were hunted by Saul to condemn them for their blasphemy. It is all so fascinating, historically.

In the passage Jesus was talking about divorce. If you want to interpret it to mean only heteros can marry, that's on you. Find me the passage where the Pharisees ask "Is it lawful for a man to take another man into marriage?" and Jesus responds, then we'll talk.

No doubt you would claim that the 700,000 people expelled from their land in 1947-8 were all invented as well? By the way, Zahir Muhsein was killed two years after making that statement.

That's the point. Jesus was specific. Jesus said they are born male and female.....and a man shall leave his mother and cling to his wife and thw two shall become one flesh.

I understand he's teaching on divorce. In order to divorce, you have to be married. He told us what marriage is and what divorce is.
