Get The Feds The Hell Out of Our Education System.

I never said "acceptable". I said "normal". Yes.

But now you have said that very thing.

So you want everyone who disagrees with you to keep their beliefs and political agendas out of teh school system? Is that about it?

But you want to be able to say who gets to teach, whether they teach homosexuality is acceptable, and to control the political messages at schools?

Nope. They can believe what their parents teach them about homosexuality. It's no one's business, especially the govt.

You mean like those parents that teach their kids that incest is acceptable?
Or that girls who dress that way are just looking to be raped?
Or that other races are inferior?
etc
etc

Yes, I don't want our public schools to teach that homosexuality is normal and acceptable. It's none of their business. Teach, don't indoctrinate. Are you okay with a teacher telling children that Jesus is Lord and they're going to hell if they don't believe? Of course not. Likewise, teachers are not to give their personal views on what sexual practices are acceptable. It's none of their damn business.

You want to shut up the Christians, but allow the queers and their supporters to indoctrinate kids with the teacher's personal views. That is unacceptable. Why is your belief more acceptable than mine?

Most Americans have had an agenda against it for over 200 years and now we are supposed to accept it as normal. Nope.

Now-now, that could be seen as you just wishing for something to be true.
It wasn't that long ago thqt most Americans had an agenda that would have seen Blacks as being less then human, that it was OK to smack your wife around, that children were property, etc, etc.

Would you be okay with teacher saying homosexuality is wrong and/or immoral?

Are you saying I held or hold those views?

It's none of the school's business to teach morals, period. That's the problem. The left wants to silence the Christians, but allow the leftist homosexual agenda to be taught. As the leftist says....."That's not fair".

I would have loved to have earned $55,000 including another $50,000 in health benefits for less than 9 months work. I don't feel sorry for teachers.

In most states the average teacher's salary is in the mid $40k range. And if you divide that into the 12 months of the year, it isn't great money. Yes, they have good health benefits, but plenty of gov't jobs have that.

Only 14 states have teachers averaging above $50k a year. While 28 states have an average teacher's salary of less than $45k a year.

According to: http://www.ehow.com/about_5212740_average-middle-class-salary-range_.html

"The 2008 census reported the medium income as $50,233. The PewResearch Center suggests that the middle income range is 75 percent to 150 percent of the median income. This would make the middle class income range $37,675 to $75,350."

Several states have average teacher's salaries that are only in the "middle class" by a couple of thousand dollars. South Dakota's average teaching salary is below the middle class line.

I finally see where your problem lies.
You keep equating Christianity, which is a religion, with homosexuality.
Two completely different subjects.

You're trying to complain that apples don't taste like oranges.

You forgot to add in the benefits. That brings their total earnings closer to $100,000 a year.

I never had a job that paid that well for less than 9 months of work. If you have, good for you.
Oh I see. So the free market doesn't appy to educators? Why the fuck should I work as a science teacher making jack shit. ($35,000 to $45,000/year), work 12 hour days, including extra curriculars that most educators are pressured into doing, then work 4 more hours at home grading papers and creating class plans for the next day? When I can make $75,000 to $100,000/year and work a forty hour week and not have to put up with bullshit from illiterate GED's like you?

I guess by your way of thinking one gives up their right to charge what the market will bear for their services when they become a teacher?

It is you and your ilk that saw kids graduating with dangerous views on AIDS. In Alabama, back in the late 80s and early 90s, there was an attempt to add AIDS awareness to the sex education classes. I know a teacher who had a girl say "I heard you can't get AIDS from oral sex, is that right?". Apparently the people (like you) who approved this course had foreseen such questions. The ONLY answer the teacher was allowed to give was that oral sex was illegal in the state of Alabama.

Yeah, nice education there.

You're the one that brought up parents being the only ones that should have a say about what sexual information their children recieve.

No, I never said that. I said I don't want public schools teaching kids that homosexuality is normal. I never said anything about sexual information.
