Eleven companies have notified the state that they plan to cut more than 1,400 Illinois jobs...

apparently you are that stupid. Illinois is full of democrat politicians. democrats who raised the tax rates so fricking high, that companies are forced to cut jobs just to try to survive, if they don't leave the state entirely. My father had to make the tough choice of not buying his kids or grandkids xmas presents this year because higher taxes ate up his extra income. thanks, moron.

Explain how "high taxes" from "Illinois Democrats" caused layoffs in Texas and all over America. Then show a list of recent Illnois tax increases...

Hims daddy said Santa can't bring widdle Jaw-jacker no presents this year cuz the big bad Tax Monster done took all daddys money.

Texas state agencies have begun laying off employees, with almost 6,000 jobs expected to be lost in the current two-year budget cycle.

The Texas Education Agency announced Tuesday there would be 178 layoffs this week, the Austin American-Statesman reported.

A spokeswoman said the agency, which laid off 91 people in February and expects another 74 to depart through attrition this year, must cut its staffing by 32 percent because of cuts to its budget.

The Texas Water Development Board laid off 39 people two weeks ago. Those layoffs and the ones at the education agency were all people working in Austin, the state capital. The Parks and Wildlife Department announced 100 layoffs in June.

these are state government agencies, not private corporations. your entire little rebuttal piece is completely full of fail, just like you.

So no private enterprises in Texas have laid anyone off recently?

Oops...SmarterThanFew pwned again.

I noticed you couldn't/didn't answer my questions:

Can you
explain how "high taxes" from "Illinois Democrats" caused layoffs in Texas and all over America?

Can you show a list of recent Illinois tax increases?

Yes, or no, SmarterThanFew.

Yes, or no.

While you're thinking of a way to avoid the issue again, read this:

Dupont and Intel Corp. are among the Fortune 500 companies that paid no net state income tax between 2008 and 2010...265 corporations that publicly disclose their state and local income taxes in financial reports found they paid state taxes, on average, of 3 percent on U.S. profits over the three year period. Sixty-eight of the companies reviewed paid no state taxes in at least one of the years studied...States are still recovering from the 2008 financial meltdown, when many legislatures slashed spending and temporarily raised taxes. But a tide of conservative governors took over in 2010, though, and are pushing for big corporate tax breaks. Major U.S. companies often gripe about the top statutory corporate rate on the federal level, which at 35 percent is among the highest in the world. At the same time, companies pay vastly differing rates - depending on whether their industry enjoys big deductions and credits.

it's obvious you have a difficult time discerning the difference between the words federal and state, or the distinction of each, which is how i answered your stupid assed questions.

no, what's obvious is your bullshit liberal intent on blaming federal actions or inactions for the consequences of the state of Illinois. It simply doesn't compute to intelligent people, yet you continue to try your crap as if it's going to stick.

No other state has successfully raised income taxes to balance its 2011 budget, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures in Washington. Most states have turned to less politically risky measures to shore up state budgets, such as raising sales taxes for vending-machine purchases or delaying corporate-tax refunds for a year.

The financial crisis in Illinois is unusual. The state had no choice but to raise taxes.

Cutting spending was not a viable option because already, major cutbacks had been made and spending is at a historic low. Then there is the debt: The state already owes $8 billion to vendors.

Illinois is one of only a handful of states that still operate with a flat-rate tax standard regardless of income, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. Even with the 2011 adjustments, Illinois would have one of the lowest tax rates in the nation, but the rates across the US are hard to pin down because most states, such as Iowa, have up to nine different tax rates for personal income.

“In terms of taxable income, it’s not always an easy comparison to make [between states],” says Arturo Pérez, a fiscal analyst with the organization.

you really don't know a damn thing about economics, do you? I knew you were a retarded dumbass, but damn.

topspin, tell legion what happens to prices of everything when the business income tax is raised nearly 50% and personal income tax is raised 66%. or superfreak can tell you. I'd ask zappa or dungheap to explain it easier for you, but I don't think that they would.

LOL, SmarterThanFew thinks someone who has trouble constructing coherent sentences while making $131 K @ year is an economic maven.

Maybe your daddy lied about not being able to afford a present for you this year, Jaw-jacker. Anyway, aren't you a little old to be playing GI Joe?
