Another great Matt Taibbi article

Mott the Hoople

Sweet Jane
Before reading this one should keep in mind that this is not a political hatchet job. Rather it's a description of the reality of southern conservative politics and the logical or rather illogical progression of public corruption under the Republicans southern strategy. What Taibbi is describing has gone on for generations. It accurately describes what southern conservative politics are and have been for many generation. A clutch of crony capitalist and corrupt property owners completely divorced from the competitive free market who use divisive social issues and religion to build a political coalition largely from ignorant rubes and rural hicks who unwittingly permit these corrupt goons to feather their own nests with the tax payers resources and to their own and the publics detriment. It also beggars the question "Why would anyone bother to mess with Texas when it's for sale?"

Behold the modern Republican party and what America will become under its leadership.

(P)Rick Perry is the poster child for the Texas GOP now that Bush is retired.

Matt does an incredible job.

It makes me angry. They take from the poor to give to the rich. It is Socialism alright, but it is not taking from the rich. They are the ones who bend the rules. This and the law makers being able to manipulate the stock market makes feel as if we are past the point of no return. This is going to lead to more people turning to the Smarter Than You solution, it will lead to more riots in the streets as the hopeless strike out.

Perry makes Tom Pendergast look like an amateur in the sale of political favor.

I was just reading an article on Tom the other day, funny you should mention him, and it was the monitor of Amo..I still don't have his new name down, at one time.

Scoundrels.

I wouldn't even call this reverse socialism. It just plain old good ole boy corruption.

Did I hear my name mentioned?

No, idiot.

Although Rana is a foolish, piss-ignorant old woman who made the same error, the Tom Pendergast referred to is this gent (http://www.newworldencyclopedia.org/entry/Thomas_Pendergast), not you, despite your inflated sense of self-worth.

If you weren't so fucking thick, you'd have noticed the spelling difference, even though you are appallingly ignorant of political history.

But, Christ, you are that fucking thick.

Right, because the Southern democrat machine is virtuous and clean... Stupid partisan demagoguing. Southern conservative politics during the civil war and into the civil rights movement was and remains, a democratic history. You guys inherited Byrd and his ilk- yes, we know, they claimed to be reformed... blah blah blah. Yes, democrats attempt to claim that wanting to ask for ID's at polls is nothing more then discrimination. Because them thar evil republicans actually want an honest election and ask for voters to do nothing more then what the state asks them to have, when driving on public road-ways, is proof of what- discrimination?

DumbYankees' web-wife didn't link to any verifiable sources to support her "they do it too" rant.

Why is that?

More 'class warfare' bullshit.....Democrats can't exist without an enemy.....corporations, doctors, insurance companys, pharmaceutics makers, conservatives, etc....

the list is endless and ever growing.

You're not only an offensive asshole, but you're a coward. I read that you posted here for a year and a half under a primary name and a secondary troll account. When a person is too much of a coward to even post behind his anonymous screen moniker, then he is a really big coward. I've kept you off IA only in an attempt to figure out who you are. I hope you are not whom I suspect, but it really doesn't matter. I am tired of reading your shit.

But make no mistake about what you are.

He posts under many names, he's a real oddball.

That is truly fucking funny.

Tell us genius... what are the bought and paid for Dems doing these days in the North? More rubes who permit corrupt goons on Wall Street to continue robbing America blind? Is that why the Dems with super majorities did NOTHING to reign in the reckless habits of wall street? Oh, but lets not look to who Wall Street elected. Lets not look at what Dems do for their Union masters to the public's detriment.

Yeah, lets just call southerners 'hicks/rubes' because that makes fucking idiots in Ohio feel 'superior'.

That said, now I will read your 'not a hatchet job' article from the ever unbiased Rolling Stone.

LMAO... your 'not a hatchet job' article's first page was an entire hatchet job.

"Perry is the candidate who is exponentially more willing than we've ever seen before to whore himself out for that money."

Apparently Matt has never met or heard of Obama and every other candidate on both sides of the aisle. Perry must be the first.

Liliana Ros, a party committeewoman in Florida, shook Perry's hand during a commercial break at the Orlando debate and promptly finked on him to reporters, offering a pervy description that was missing only the open raincoat and the raging boner. "He grabbed my hand and held on to it," Ros said. "His hand was so cold, like ice. And he was sweating. He didn't seem well, like he was in pain or he was sick or something. I don't know what it was, but something was definitely wrong."

Stunning reporting that is.

Those in Texas who have followed Perry most closely over the years have all come to the same conclusion about him. "He's a cash-and-carry governor," says Craig McDonald, director of Texans for Public Justice, a group that monitors campaign contributions in the state. "He has an extremely strong stomach for holding his nose and doing really dirty favors."

"He'll be whatever you want him to be," says one longtime political opponent. "He's all about greed."

"There's no line he won't cross," says another.

Riveting. A Liberal 'watch dog' group and his long time opponents have some not so nice things to say about him? Ya don't say.

Sorry, but I had to stop reading your 'not a hatchet job' article... as it was a complete hatchet job in the first couple of pages.
