Not really, so your 'figgerin' ain't that good. I could live in several places if I wanted to. England, Hong Kong, Australia, France even the US. I see your property prices are still 'somewhat unexciting'! My agent sent details of quite a nice place in Florida at the weekend but I think we prefer the Dordogne or northern Italy for our final years.

property prices falling everywhere at present. The house in Florida was 4 beds, detached, substantial amount of land, and they only wanted something like £140,000. Which, if you have a place in the UK, is dead cheap.
