UC Davis police chief placed on administrative leave

UC Davis spokesperson Pat Bailey announced Monday that campus police chief chief Annette Spicuzza was placed on administrative leave, pending review of officers' use of pepper spray against protesters on Friday.

The move comes two days after a pair of UC Davis officers were placed on leave following the incident.

UC Davis Chancellor Linda P.B. Katehi said Lt. Matt Carmichael will serve as interim police chief. Katehi said the action was taken in order to restore trust in the campus police.
