Ted Kennedy, Still an embarresment to the country even in death

How so? You said Democrats "voted to invade." That was your backup?

Really?

I can read, Alias. Apparently, you're not able to. That's unfortunate.

Did you read my link? Do you need to play word games to make your point? Congress voted to invade Iraq. Idiot.

Um, no - actually, they didn't.

How embarassing this must be for you. They did not vote to "invade Iraq." What a silly thing to say.

Democrats in the House and Senate voted for this:

Resolution Authorizes Use of Military Forces in Iraq
Specifically, the resolution authorizes President Bush to:
•use the Armed Forces of the United States as he determines to be necessary and appropriate in order to--
(1) defend the national security of the United States against the continuing threat posed by Iraq; and

(2) enforce all relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions regarding Iraq.

What's even funnier is that when Bush & Cheney DID make the decision to invade (which, according to Dick Armey, broke their promise to Congress), most on the right said that Dems were on the "wrong side of history" for opposing the decision.

Now, of course, it's all, "The Dems voted to invade! They forced Bush to do it!"

Again - and this is unfortunate for you - there is no language in there regarding "the invasion of Iraq."

You guys always lie about history. It's all you have.

I don't need luck with it. It's history.

Clearly, you have no idea whatsoever how the Iraq War came about. Have you read anything at all about it?

You don't want to accept the fact that Democrats in the House and the Senate voted for the invasion so you want to play word games. That's fine. You're only fooling yourself. LOL.

It's not "word games." It wasn't a "resolution to invade." Period.

Sorry 'bout that. I know you guys hate for Bush or Cheney to have any accountability whatsoever.

Like I said, all you have is word games and semantics. You call it what you want, doesn't matter. It was what it was. Bush and Cheney have taken responsibility for invading. They haven't evaded any responsibility. YOU are the one who is not taking responsibility by denying Democrats voted to go to war. It's YOU that is evading responsibility.

There is no language about air strikes, or cruise missiles, or jamming their radar, or destroying their anti-air craft installations either....

As a matter of fact, Clinton didn't get the ok to use any of those tactics either....but he did.

Anyway....whats you point ?

There is a lot more to the WAR RESOLUTION than that little paragraph...

Funny....you're not even smart enough about history to lie about history.....

These threads always draw you in. The only ones lying are the ones saying it was a "resolution to invade." Even DICK ARMEY of all people agrees w/ me.

Sorry it didn't work out, bravs. You were one of the idiots who originallly said the Dems were on the "wrong side of history" when Saddam's statue toppled, and it looked like Bush made such a good call. Now, of course, it's "the Dems voted to invade!"

Speaks volumes regarding how you feel about our actions in Iraq now. Bush's legacy, bravs. Nothing you say on a message board changes that, for anyone.

Iraq War Resolution (formally the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002

The resolution authorized President Bush to use the Armed Forces of the United States "as he determines to be necessary and appropriate" ............

Is there something in the above "official words of the voted on legislation" that you actually don't understand ?

Note the underlined .....

Finally! I'm so glad you see now that it wasn't a "resolution to invade." You've been arguing that for ages.

Nice going...

IT WAS A resolution that authorized President Bush to use the Armed Forces of the United States "as he determines to be necessary and appropriate"

does that mean 'air strikes'.....'harsh words'.....'cruise missiles'......'ground action'.....'tank war'.....'atomic bombs'.....'invasion'.....'a chess match'...

what does is prohibit and what does it authorize.....

Specify exactly how you justify your ignorance...

Yes, do note the underlined and the bolded part, "necessary and appropriate"

It was neither necessary nor appropriate. The fact is it was completely unnecessary and most inappropriate as witnessed over the last 10 years. If the Dems can be accused of anything it's misjudging the borderline criminality of Bush's incompetence as President.

Do you seriously think "HE" refers to you.....

Did you notice the words....."authorized President Bush "........?

Is your name "Bush"......are you the President......

You need to see a doctor of some sort Onecell......

I've schooled you on this so many times in the past its getting really tiresome....

LOL - bravo can't even tell when it isn't me he's responding to.

No wonder he doesn't comprehend that it isn't a "resolution to invade."

Glad I'm not as dumb as you, bravs....
