I can think of several excellent posters who have departed, I think in large part, due to the hostile and childish nature of the posting.

This is hate speech. What purpose does it serve? It attempts to shame, humiliate, and intimidate women and people of color into silence. It attempts to rob them of their free speech.

Women writers were beginning to turn down assignments at places like salon.com, a site that attracts some of the most virulent misogynists on the internet. The comment sections under articles written by women are unreadable. You cunt. You fucking dried up cunt. You fucking whore. You fucking dumb bitch. You fucking unfuckable fucking bitch. I hope you get cancer in your cunt and die bitch.

All comments I have read. Hate. Rage. Pouring down on women like acid rain. How long can anyone withstand it? It takes its toll. Eventually some women do go away. They shut up. They run away from the hate, from the rage.

That is the beginning of a revolution. And there isn’t a word in there that doesn’t apply to men of color as well. Because they are often subject to the same kind of treatment.

Free speech has only ever been discussed here by white men. And white men have made the rules. But there’s a revolution in the works, and as usual the bitches started it. So you can bet that as we speak this is snowballing (I won’t bore a self-satisfied white guy like you with the details), and some shit is going to change.

After all, as Tina Fey always says – you want to get some shit done, you call a bitch. So look out. And enjoy your “Free speech” (read; hate speech) while it lasts.

Racists and women-haters will almost definitely always have a refuge from civilization here, however, the spots they can spew their bile in are going to be shrinking until finally, there are so few left that women and people of color will know how to avoid them.

In conservative circles, we call your rant HYPOCRISY, because that's what it is. You rail on and on about others using derogatory language, then you tear into some conservative with just as egregious insults, but that's okay, you are special, the same rules don't apply to you, because you are "a victim" and it's okay if you do it.

The road to civilized discourse begins with YOU! The man/woman in the mirror. Ultimately, that's all any of us can hope to change. But of course, if you change, I won't get the pleasure of watching you make a hypocritical ass of yourself on a routine basis.

Yeah. Because what we really need, is for a bunch of Fascist Left-wing Commies to dictate FREE SPEECH! That way, you can effectively shut down anyone who doesn't agree with your ideology, and make it appear the whole world thinks you are the bomb! Since it is impossible to argue your insanity on any intelligent level, it's necessary to silence critics. You won't stop free speech, and if you try to censor it, you will fail big time. What you and others like you need to do, is grow thicker skin. Let the insults run off your back like water on a duck. I could make you a list a mile long of the abhorrent and hateful names I have been called, just for speaking my mind, but what purpose does that serve? The way I view it, the more vitriolic the name-calling becomes, the more I know I struck a nerve and made my point. Any objective and open-minded individual who reads it, knows the same thing. Once you've lowered yourself to petty insults, you've lost any debate... it's over, you're done. So when the names and insults start flying, it gives me a sense of satisfaction, it doesn't hurt my feelings.

I'm ready for the new world, I got the bunker finished last week, full of surplus food and supplies, and ammo. I don't think you're going to shut down free speech that easily, because a lot of us appreciate the right, even with the pitfalls. Now, you can run your mouth, you are really good at that. And you can continue being a complete and total hypocrite, and never realize it, I'm okay with that too. But what you are NOT going to do, is take my rights away from me without a vicious fight, so be prepared for that, sweetheart.
