WASHINGTON - District of Columbia police said early Saturday that a driver will not be charged for striking three people taking part in an Occupy DC protest in downtown Washington.

Lt. Christopher Micciche of the D.C. police said the driver was not cited because he had a green light when his vehicle struck the three on Friday night. He said witnesses told police that the three pedestrians "either ran toward or jumped in front of the moving vehicle." He said one pedestrian jumped on the hood of the car. One of them was cited for being in the roadway.

"The protesters were apparently trying to block the roadway," Micciche said. "It was essentially an accident where three individuals were injured but they were in violation by being in the roadway." D.C. fire department spokesman Lon Walls said Saturday morning that the three were transported to two area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

i predict most libs will be silent in their approval of this.

if this was the tea party, there would already be a dozen threads about it

It's interesting that you say that. Do you have any idea how many OWS threads have been started by you & webbway alone?

Is this what democracy looks like? A bunch of people so ashamed of what they are doing they cover their faces and try to hide behind their signs?

Conservatives are scared shitless of this movement.

I'm not scared of the OWS movement. While it's possible I'm an anomoly, I don't think I am. I agree with several of the things they are complaining about. I also don't see this movement as some progressive take over of the country.

LOL. Actually, we're laughing our asses off. Your President has aligned himself with these miscreants. Please keep it going. We're having a blast watching the demonrat party implode.

Eh; that's not really fooling anyone. At least on this board, there is a pretty crazy obsession w/ the OWS thing, and it clearly bugs some of you....

I see it as a real mix of people who are just fed up with the system. They no longer feel they have a representative government. The ruling of " corporations are people" has finally shown us who runs the country and your age group and younger are the ones who are going to suffer for it. I don't blame them for being angry.

Protester throws fit in McDonald's when he can't get free food:

A Zuccotti Park protester threw a violent fit in a McDonald’s yesterday after employees refused to give him free food.

Fisika Bezabeh, 27, ripped a credit-card reader from a counter and threw it at workers at about 2:30 a.m. at the Mickey D’s at 160 Broadway, a bathroom spot for protesters.

It doesn't bug me in the least. I'm loving it. Your President has aligned himself with it. I hope it lasts until election day.

If corporations aren't people, then who are they?
