CBO Finds 3.7 Million Jobs Created by Stimulus

Well, since I know that Damo and SF (and the Wall Street Journal Op-ed page) think the CBO is an authoritative source not to be questioned, I'm sure they will be pleased with this news:

A report by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office shows the Recovery Act has increased the number of workers by between 1.2 million and 2.8 million. The CBO also projects that 3.7 million jobs could be attributed to the stimulus by the end of September.

The $787 billion measure included several tax cuts, including one for $400 ($800 per working couple) that showed up in workers' paychecks. It also created Build America Bonds, expanded unemployment insurance and funded several domestic spending programs.

Several of these provisions are now being expanded in legislation extending expiring measures that the House could vote on later Wednesday.

Not to nitpick but your subject line says 3.7 million jobs created, as in it already happened, and in your article it says the CBO projects that 3.7 million job could be attributed. It doesn't seem like that number is set in stone just yet.

I just used the headline from the article. Point taken.

how many of those jobs are permanent? what source did the CBO use? i also find the massive gap between 1.2 million and 2.8 million highly dubious. if the stimulus added workers, how is it we still lost workers and unemployment continued to increase?

The article was from May 2010 and the projection was for September, so it's possible and just needs to be verified.

Translation: the stimulus just has to have failed! I've said it too many times!

Too funny. Read the #'s & weep, Yurtsie.

yeah, asking questions about the source is just too much for you. i bet you also missed this article is a year and half old. you are a blind hack, iirc, this report was the created or saved report.

The source? You use the CBO when it's convenient for you.

You have an agenda; it's very important for you to maintain the fallacy that the stimulus did very little to improve the job situation.

i always question the source, unlike you, who blindly accepts anything they say when it conforms to your world view.

i know asking tough questions about sources and stuff are difficult for you, it is telling that you think that is agenda. yeah, how dare anyone want sources!!!

btw....nice fail on the report being current

I never said the report was current. For quite a long time now, I've been stating that the stimulus working in creating millions of jobs, and that the righties claim (and your claim) that it "failed" was nothing more than propoganda by repetition.

Nice fail on my claiming it was current, btw.
