Can Whites Ever Say The N-Word? Op-Ed by Toure' for Time

Don't pretend that actually saying the word is a traditionally stupid "pc" thing. I'm sure I agree with many that "pc" has gotten completely out of hand.

But the word itself goes far beyond that - it is truly offensive to many, and for good reason.

What's offensive is that people are allowed to say it or not say it depending on the color of their skin. That's stupidly offensive and it shows a disconnect in common sense. Once again we have the left instructing us on how to think and speak. If a word is offensive then it's the WORD, not who says it. Dumb asses.

You're very dim. Again, no one is saying it's "not allowed." And it's not the "left" telling you anything.

No, I'm not very dim, I'm speaking of things that are beyond your comprehension, that's all. Determining whether a word is offensive or not by the skin color of the person saying it is idiotic. That's beyond dim. That's dim gone to seed.

Like Harry Belafonte telling us who is a real negro and who is false by their politics. The left is full of race baiters and those who instruct us on history, meaning of words, how to think, act, and how to speak. You're inside so you can't see it.

Oh dear, you have much to learn glasshopper. If you bothered to notice my first name is Tom, so I am uncle Tom to my nieces and nephews. I was trying to make a joke but it went unnoticed hence the stony ground comment. Oh and by the way, I know what an Uncle Tom is, if I didn't I wouldn't have been able to make the joke even if it resulted in a dead cat bounce. You need to lighten up. You're not one of those Black Pussies...err...Panthers are you?

That would be a question better directed at your mother. How'd that dead cat bounce work out for you.....you people have such quaint sayings.

Well, obviously out of my circle. I'd be an occupier, if anything. Kinda pretentious to be using references no one knows about, doncha think?

kind of pretentious to claim that just because you don't know the term, that "no one knows" about the term....

and you don't pay attention, poet has claimed the word should be allowed, he even complained to damo about allowing the word on this board. while poet certainly does not represent the left, he is of the left.

How hilarious, and revealing, that this is what bothers you - and not the repeated use of the word itself by Alias, bravo, et al.

You really love to take on "your side"...not.

Keeping a score card? That's what good little lefty dweebs do....

Well, you see it all depends on how the word is used and your meaning and intent. It's always about intent. We know what you really meant.....blah, blah, and more such BS. You leftists and your damn mind games.

You have to ask?

well, it did seem the best way to bring about discussion.......I suppose I could have written it down and put it in my safe, but so few of you would have responded to it there.....

it appears to be "acceptable", since it gets used frequently in the press.......but is there really any difference between saying the N-word and saying "the N-word" in that context?.......

I don't say it in either instance, as a rule
