What's Bloomberg smoking?

Shaken, not stirred!
In New York City (aka Manhattan, NY) there has been a protest the last two weeks against the Wall St. shennanigans that (along with certain banks) have led the country (if not the world) on the fast track to financial dire straits. Here's an excerpt from Mayor Bloomberg, as he considers putting the kibosh on the whole thing:

“The protesters are protesting against people who make $40 or $50,000 a year and are struggling to make ends meet,” he said. “That’s the bottom line. Those are the people that work on Wall Street and in the finance sector.”

Somebody needs to call the good Mayor out on his obvious skewed view of the tier system in the financial world....secretaries, security people, administrative assistants, maintenance workers, etc., ARE NOT THE PEOPLE WHO MAKE THE DECISIONS ON THE TRADING FLOOR, NOR ARE THEY THE MANAGEMENT OF THE VARIOUS INVESTMENT FIRMS, ETC. WHO MAKE THE DECISIONS REGARDING STOCK RATINGS AND SUCH. Those people start off around $80K-$100K (and I'll be lenient to include executive/personal secretaries and assistants). Bloomberg, in an indirect fashion, is regurgitating the current neocon/teabagger mantra.....you bother the REALLY rich folk and we'll take it out on the middle and lower middle class folk.

The protesters knew EXACTLY who they are exactly protesting....currently they may have to go up against the NYPD. And the beat goes on.

Thom Hartmann brought up the point the other day that the young people in the mideast are educated, computer literate and unemployed. The revolutions in their countries could spread to this country if we don't give our children the opportunity to work for decent wages and use the knowledge they gained thru education. This is one reason the right wants to eliminate education in this country thru their rich-only voucher system. The more conservative ideology we have the closer we get to poverty, death, oligarchy and revolution.

The formerly Democratic/Republican multi-millionaire Mayor also said this:

"We have a lot of kids graduating college, can’t find jobs. That’s what happened in Cairo. That’s what happened in Madrid. You don’t want those kinds of riots here."

Yeah, and the son-of-a-bitch is worth more NOW than we he first got into office.....but I don't recall "Bloomberg News" as being a major employer in NYC. Bottom line: say the phrase "transaction tax" to Bloomberg and he nearly has an allergic reaction...but he sure as hell entertains cuts to schools, unions, etc., just like a good little neocon/teabagger.

You ain't just whistl'in Dixie! Hartmann has a lot of dead on analogies, although he needs to brush up on his debate skills when he brings the neocons and teabaggers on his show.

Big money owns both parties.

Something Ralph Nader has pointed out often.....but it's the people who are in power now and who have been pushing the Reaganomics agenda for the last 30 years are the main culprits when it comes to our current financial woes. Mind you, the day I hear Bloomberg or Cuomo utter the phrase "transaction tax" then I know all is not lost.

You're missing his point....when those evil $80K-$100K folks making decisions lose their businesses, everyone will suffer....and its obviously got nothing to do with Conservatives and Tea Party supporters.....and

You wouldn't make a comma in Bloombergs resume...and I don't even like the asshole....

Bravo, you are one of the most willfully ignorant and stubborn old fart barfly's I've ever come across. Pay attention, as I stated above:

Let me dumb it down for you, you barstool bumpkin Bravo........The people Bloomberg mentioned via salary range are NOT the people who made the decisions that screwed the American financial situation but good....or were you watching Howdy Doody reruns on a beer and buffalo wing binge during the whole bank/Wall St. bailout fiasco? Bloomberg essentially parrots the SOS that YOU'RE dumb ass just did....if you question or punish the people that screw you, they'll take their toys and go home!

Well, people are not buying it anymore, because it was their money that bailed out Wall St. and the banks. Unlike YOU, Bravo, people are not going to throw themselves over the chair back with a smile and say, "Thank you sir, may I have another".

Bloomberg is full of it.....he jumped from Democrat to neocon Republican to win an election, and he damned sure did a back room deal to buy his third term. He's richer now than he was when he came into office, but his business is NOT a major employer in NYC..and Bloomberg follows the "slash and burn" course of the neocon/teabaggers to attack a budget by going after teachers unions and the like, but won't DARE bring back a transaction tax on Wall St., which would pump 100 of millions into the NYC coffers.

The protesters know DAMNED well who they are protesting. Now, get your flabby old ass back to the barstool, Bravo...I'm done entertaining the thought of humiliating you time and again.

Repeating the same bullshit doesn't change the facts....when those evil $80K-$100K folks making decisions lose their businesses, everyone will suffer..and that is the bottom line....who will sign their paychecks when the business folds and the boss moves to the Cayman Islands...its no different than any other
business or corporation that goes under.....who is giving paychecks to the Solyndra employees....who is signing paychecks for the Enron workers..Bloomberg is just telling you whats gonna happen and hes right on the mark..

When its all said and done, you're just another asswipe that can't bear to admit he is nothing but a gasbag....serving up his word salad.....

Appropo to this; from the New York Times:

Anti-Wall Street Protests Spreading to Cities Large and Small
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/04/us/anti-wall-street-protests-spread-to-other-cities.html

It's interesting how the "liberal bastion" that is the NY Times - the folks that gave us Judith Miller :) - is STILL trying to portray these protests as aimless rebellion that needs traditional leadership, etc., etc. But that storyline that is the favorite of the neocon/teabagger punditry is just not cutting it as these protest are growing and getting more coverage. As it stands now, the NYPD are hinting that they'll use the "private property" ploy to disperse and stop the protests.

But this time, I don't think people will be going quietly into the night.

And dems do no harm with class warfare, reparations and the most spending EVER. Got it taichimoron

I would hope they wouldn't go quietly.
It's much more fun to hear their pathetic whining, while they're being restrained, stunned, and dragged away. :)

Dude, get the crack out of your pipe! Instead of dealing with the FACTS and the articles at hand, you just regurgitate some Limbaugh-esque clap trap.

Wake the fuck up, Dude...YOU are not a member of the "class" that the neocon GOP is so ardently defending....YOU are a member of the "class" that gets shitted on via job outourcing (which YOUR tax dollars are used for), insurance companies that screw you at every turn, banks that screwed EVERYONE and then got your tax dollars to bail them out....YOU ARE NOT getting tax breaks and loopholes in order to keep MORE millions.

And how in the world did you throw in "reparations", as it's not even in the current economic debates between the neocon/teabagger GOP and the Obama administration? Jeezus, you dumb ass neocon/teabagger parrots will squawk anything to try and cover that you just don't have a logical, rational or moral defense of the current policies of your leadership.

Grow up and wake up, Dude.

Just make sure to open wide, teabaggee.

Only Freedumb would inadvertently call HIMSELF a gay man who uses a political Tea Party to screw over other Americans.

Bloomberg won't dare think about a transaction tax, but yet he's doing the same teabagger shuffle by going after unions and cutting service budgets. So disconnected he is, that Bloomberg confuses a $40K secretary with a entry level $80K trader or the 6 figure managers, partners and such that inhabit the Wall St. offices. The protestors know damn well who was responsible for the economic debacles of the last 10 years, and it damn sure wasn't a secretary.

But Freedumb just isn't smart enough or courageous enough to deal with this....hence Freedumb's statement above. Sad, but not unexpected. So unless he actually has the guts to discuss the opening post of this thread, I leave him to his cowardly bluffs, bluster and BS.
