After an economic slowdown, the rate rose again to 6.1% in August 2008 and up to 7.2% in December 2008.

The economic policy of the George W. Bush administration was a combination of tax cuts, expenditures for fighting two wars, and a free-market ideology intended to de-emphasize the role of government in the private sector.
He advocated the ownership society, premised on the concepts of individual accountability, less government, and the owning of property.
During his first term (2001–2005), he sought and obtained Congressional approval for tax cuts: the Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001, the Job Creation and Worker Assistance Act of 2002 and the Jobs and Growth Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2003.
These acts decreased reduced the capital gains tax, increased the child tax credit and eliminated the so-called "marriage penalty".
Budgeted spending under President Bush averaged 19.9% of GDP, although tax receipts were lower.

Bush had a pretty simplistic view of both world affairs, and of the economy. I remember his campaign speech about his economic "plan." Do you make money? You get a tax cut! I think he thought that if you just cut taxes for everyone, the rest would take care of itself.
yeah, that was his whole economic plan
tff how you and legion are still obsessing over bush and IGNORING obama....you know, the current president...perhaps you two should start a thread about washington
I'd love to hear what the rest of it was. Can you tell me?
Nice comment on the OP, btw.
i can't see the OP, he is on ignore. if you really think that was his whole plan, you're dumb.
I'll make it big enough so you're sure to see it....
Bush average unemployment rate ........ 5.3 %.......an outstanding record....
Then let's hear the rest. I'm putting you on the honor system - no googling, or yahooing, or anything. What was the rest of his economic plan?
That's his economic plan?
Did you think the head of Enron had an outstanding record up until the day that company tanked?
stop being obtuse and moronic. i've gone over this with you multiple times. you always act obtuse and i'm not biting this time. like i said, if you believe that was all his plan, even after i've linked you in the past, then you are dumb.
Irrelevant straw-man bullshit as usual....
Nope - it's the exact same thing. You think Bush did a wonderful job on the economy, but somehow, it crashed on his watch - worst in decades.
Oh, yeah - that was BARNEY FRANK. Forgot...
Oh - I remember, Yurtsie. The "multiple times" was one time when you googled for ages, and were finally able to find some sort of assistance to farmers. And then you said I didn't care about farmers or something.
