I hate to be cynical but house Republicans must be idiots. This jobs bill was a win/win situation for Obama politically. If passed, he can show his constituency that he has done something about growing jobs. If killed carte-blanche he can then paint congress, which is far more unpopular then he is, as obstructionist to helping people, particularly house Republicans. This was a neat little trap and I can't believe that house Republicans could be so ideologically blind as to fall for it. This will be pounded up their asses come the campaign season and will come back to haunt them. They should have aimed for compromise to water this bill down till it was tepid. I just can't believe that Republicans could be this stupid and it smell like tea to me.

Tell us Mott.... How did Reid do passing the job bill through the Senate? What's that???? He hasn't even held a vote on it yet? But but Obama said PASS IT NOW.

The public sees the job bill as a smaller version of the piece of shit Obama passed in 2009 that did nothing to add jobs to the economy. They have no faith in it doing anything this time around. Infrastructure spending was the only thing in it that would actually create jobs and that was just a fraction of the bill. Everything else was simply band-aids and once again more kowtowing to unions.

SF, you aren't "the public" so you should refrain from speaking on its behalf. Independent economists who looked at the proposal were pretty uniform in saying it would improve GDP and lower unemployment. But the Republicans don't want to improve GDP and lower unemployment. So, here we are.

He stole that from me. When I first got here, alias wrote a long, fuming, violent post to me filled with threats about how he was going to torture, beat, and ruin me, and all this other stuff. So I wrote "Eek! An Internet Tough Guy!" Alias never came back to the thread he was so unmanned and humiliated by those five words. It was funny.

SF just tried to change it so it doesn't look like he stole it, but I know he got the idea from me. However, like most righties, he couldn't resist the chance to over do it with emotion and out-of-control punctuation. It just doesn't have that certain je ne sais quoi it has when I do it.

You created the Internet Tough Guy saying that is used on multiple boards like this? Pretty impressive dude.

Okay, am I the only one who caught the irony here? If the situation is a "win/win" for Obama, what could Republicans do to keep it from being a "loss/loss" for them? Seems to me if Obama wins with passage or wins with defeat, the Republicans are fresh outta options. I'm just curious as to what Motthead thinks Republicans could have done about the "win/win" for Obama?

Too freakin' funny, Mott!

Still trying to figure this one out, Mott.... Maybe if Republicans renounced their political affiliations and became Democrats? Then it wouldn't matter if they voted for it or against it, they could still share in the "win/win" with Obama! ...I bet THAT is what Mott was thinking when he posted this! Yes Mott, you are so fucking brilliant... Republicans should have simply left the GOP and became Democrats! I can't believe they were too dumb to figure it out!

No, but the polls taken OF the public did state what I repeated. Those 'Independent' economists are likely the same idiots that said the first larger bill would do the same.

LMAO... so you think you invented that phrase?

I honestly don't recall where I first heard it, but it was LONG before you joined this board.

No, my friend from another board uses it a lot, and I thought he invented the "eek, an internet tough guy" thing. I asked him if I could use it though and he said yes. I'm popular with the guys on other boards. On account of my name and all? Here they all want to kill me, or insist I'm a man (Cawacko)

BTW, I never saw you use that, was it maybe the same week that you "ripped" webbway for being racist? I must have been sick that week? Maybe I was in the hospital?

They've been using it for years on the Rivals Mainboard (college football). Kind of like when someone says Nebraska sucked *ss on Saturday and then someone takes offense and wants to fight.

My bad, I did not know your sex. My apologies dudette.

But do they say "eek!"? Of course I've seen the phrase internet tough guy, but do they say "eek? an internet tough guy!"??

I doubt it!
