The President is in Town Today... Mucking up the roads...

The main thing that I've noticed is how little hoopla there has been over this. In the past it was HUGE, this time it's like they have to pay people to talk about it almost.

I'm fascinated. Has it been this way elsewhere? SF, have you noticed this too?

I see the Dancin' Dalai doesn't miss a step when it comes to concocting apocryphal accounts purporting to show how 'uninterested' people are in Obama.

Goebbels would be proud.

How sad that no one cares about Obama anymore. Thanks for relaying this, Damo...

M'eh... Basically I wanted to see what SF had to say. Is he noticing this too? There is definitely less hoopla than on previous visits. Shoot when he was here to talk up the energy research group in Golden it was all people talked about for more than a week before he came. I just learned he was coming here today and I am plugged in... I wonder how many people have no idea he's even coming.

Yeah, theres just zero interest and not much coverage....

Hundreds of people lined up
outside Abraham Lincoln High School on Monday to get tickets to see President Barack Obama in Denver.

The president will visit the school on Tuesday to highlight his American Jobs Act proposal.

Tickets were free to the public, but were limited to one per person.

When distribution started at 7 a.m., the ticket line was more than one block long.

Before the sun rose Monday morning, dozens of people were already waiting in line for free tickets to see the President speak Tuesday afternoon.

Free tickets for the President's speech were distributed at 11 a.m. Monday.

They ran out of tickets only an hour later.

The Post had a few articles on it this morning. It took 4-5 hours to give away the free tickets to the anointed one's propaganda pitch.

That said, one of my clients just postponed his review so he wouldn't have to chance running into traffic problems. Since he is coming from Stapleton area to DTC, probably a good call given Obama is flying into Buckley.

There was a good article on Politico quoting Hickenlooper and Ritter about how CO won't be as easy in 2012 as it was in 2008.

As for noticing, until I saw the Post article this morning, I didn't know he was coming to Denver. That said, I rarely pay attention to the local news. Unless of course it is related to the Bronco's sucking.... as that makes the Chiefs sucking this year a bit more palatable. By the way.... we are leading the race for Luck!

Anyone who opposes Obama is a nazi? LOL. Beautiful. With people like you running interference for this idiot, we don't have anything to worry about. Keep going.

Must be a lot of homeless people around there. Were they also promised a pack of cigs and a bottle of Thunderbird?

Oh well. In the past I remember hearing about it at least a week preceding a visit, this time not so much but it may just be that I wasn't listening at the right times to grab that news... Maybe too much music, not enough talk radio in the past week... :dunno:

4-5 hours to give away tickets is pretty quick, I have no doubt it is somehow my fault.

;)

The Brewers took 17 minutes to sell out three games.... 4-5 hours for Saint Obama to give away 1000 FREE tickets... yeah... I would say that is quick. :)

lol. Yup. Hence the winky...

My daughter got tickets to some country singer, some young blonde chick, that concert sold out in less than 3 minutes... I paid a ridiculous amount of money for tickets to a concert I'll have to go to that I am sure I'll hate. Ugh...

Yeah... don't play that game with me. We both know it was YOU that wanted to go the concert and you are using your daughter as an excuse to go.

don't worry, I use my nieces as an excuse to HAVE to go to see Disney animated movies.... we all do it.... :)
