Obama Said to Seek $300 Billion Jobs Stimulus Package

That's a BS metric. The idea of the stimulus was to create & save jobs, period.

It did.
You're entitled to believe anything you need to about the stimulus........the only proof we can literally see is that unemployment grew after it was passed....any beliefs you have about other issues is faith based and not reality based....we will never know what would happened without the bill....we can only speculate.....

There comes a time in every....EVERY recession or down turn in the economy when unemployment begins to slow....job losses become less and less each month.....
That happens even it nothing is done by the government.....a sort of equilibrium is reached....unemployment goes from ...say...5% up to 10% or 15% and sits there and sits there.....not from something the government has or has not done ... but just because its reached a kind of balance point....

Then business settles, attitudes change, people start to take chances and the economy again starts to grow.....and jobs are created

The government tries to use the tax system, welfare, bail outs, borrowing, printing money and hundreds of other schemes to force the action and its plain that all of it can't drive the economy any faster than it wants to grow naturally......but politicans do and will make all sorts of claims of their supernatural abilities to save and create jobs and grow the economy.....

Love it. Once again, shouting to the world how braindead & economically illiterate you are.

We can do more than "speculate." They keep track of jobs created by the stimulus money - literally hundreds of thousands of them. There are also documented jobs that were saved by the stimulus (as attested to by employers).

Why do you enter into these discussions without even having looked at any of that? Just to loudly proclaim your stupidity?

The 1st stimulus created close to a million jobs, and saved a few hundred thousand more.

$300 bill is nothing in the scheme of things. If he wants to pass it, he should offer concessions on domestic drilling...

link to support your claim of close to a million jobs

I think the funniest thing about the posters who keep claiming that the stimulus "failed" or "didn't create jobs" is that none of them have the faintest clue how many documented jobs were actually created by the stimulus. They just parrott what they hear.

so you can't back up your claim, got it....weak red herring btw

My claim is fact, and is easy enough to find on google. Do you have any idea how many jobs were created by the stimulus?

If you don't, why do you engage in these discussions?

What was the average for the 16 months prior to "Obamacare."

What is the average for the 123 months prior to Obama care?

The point dipshit is that we were seeing a recovery, that recovery's cessation coincided with the passing of Obamacare.

But please.... do go on apologizing for Obama....

why do you ask others to verify their claims and yet refuse to verify your claims when asked?

I usually ask when claims are outlandish or wrong.

My claim is fact; it's easily verifiable on the web, by checking the CBO, recovery.org or a variety of other sources that should be a prerequisite for anyone involved in a discussion on the stimulus.

What's amazing to me is that posters have no problem saying the stimulus failed or making claims about it, without even checking these sources.

Your suggestion that two months of positive employment figures is a "recovery" is laughable. You're on a roll today!

lmao...IOW, you're a hypocrite. i believe you're wrong, hence why i asked you to verify your claim. but once again onceler's double standard rears its ugly head. it is ok for you to ask for links, but not ok for people to ask you for links.

thanks for proving your claim is bullshit

LMAO....

Tell us Mr. Parrot.... what is it you are doing?

You are simply parroting the talking points of Obama.

2009 -820 -726 -796 -660 -386 -502 -300 -231 -236 -221 -55 -130
2010 -39 -35 192 277 458 -192 -49 -59 -29 171 93 152
2011 68 235 194 217 53 20 85(P) 0(P)

Those are the jobs numbers (note: yes, I am aware they are private sector only, so if you have a source for government jobs added please share)

So.... where are the jobs you are referencing? What starting point are you using? If we are generous and start in the second half of 2009, then 678k private sector jobs were created. Were they all due to the stimulus?

If you start in April of 2009, then there was a net loss of private sector jobs to the tune of 870k jobs. Yet you find it hard to understand why people think the stimulus failed to create jobs? While I agree it takes some time to put it to work, I can also see how a more novice person would think there were job losses since the stimulus.

Highlight:

Nonetheless, the effects of the fiscal stimulus alone appear very substantial, raising 2010 real GDP by about 3.4%, holding the unemployment rate about 1½ percentage points lower, and adding almost 2.7 million jobs to U.S. payrolls

And why do you think I'm wrong?

Just a "hunch"?

irrelevant, you proved your hypocrisy. you want others to produce links when you think they are wrong, but now, you won't produce a link when others think you're wrong. and now you believe you get to ask why they think you're wrong.

you're so petulant.

LMAO..... so tell me.... did you also laugh at Obama and every prominent Democrat who told us how we were in the 'summer of recovery' in 2010???? No, you didn't.... you were parroting that line right along side your masters.

Side note moron.... that was THREE months (thanks for demonstrating your lack of math skills) and it was 927k jobs added. The sum total of jobs added in the private sector since the stimulus is 678k (starting in July 2009.... talking private sector)
