GOP could care less about jobs.

Taichiliberal

Shaken, not stirred!
So on the FIRST DAY that the Congress and Senate come back from vacation, the President wants to schedule a joint session to address them on his new proposed plan for creating jobs in America ASAP.

The President submits the formal request to the Majority Speaker of the House of Representatives....and about 4 hours later is told that ANOTHER time would be more convenient due to "security arrangement" matters and the like.

Since the early 1900's when President's started making actual visits to the House to address them, NO PRESIDENT'S REQUEST HAS EVER BEEN DENIED UNTIL NOW.

Interesting that the very political party that has been wailing for months that they are waiting for the President to present a plan for jobs in America SUDDENLY can't fit the President of the USA in for a quick address.

Now if one is to believe the GOP's favorite pundit Rush Limbaugh, Speaker Boehner rejected the initial request date in order to put Obama "in his place" and not let the President have the upper hand as taking a leadership position....especially since it would coincide with the first scheduled GOP Presidential candidacy debate.

This is just another example to the American people that the GOP is NOT about the general welfare of the people, but about the corporate welfare and secured economic greed of the wealthiest 1 to 3% of the population.

The GOP has but two goals - get the Black man out of the White House and repeal health care reform. They don't care what they have to do to accomplish their aims, do they?

On Fox News Sunday Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) maintained that the Republicans’ number one goal remains the defeat of President Obama in 2012.

In an interview with Bret Baier of Fox News, McConnell was asked about a charge made by Democrats that the Republicans are purposefully sabotaging the economy for political gain in 2012.

McConnell at first seemed to admit the charge, saying “Well that’s true” before going on to claim that Republicans want to fix the economy first.

A video of McConnell’s comments can be seen in the video at the link:

Will Obama submit something to the Congress to read, debate, and vote on ?, or does he expect them to grade his speech ?

The last crap he submitted to Congress didn't even get ONE VOTE from Democrats.....how miserable is that...

Obama was grandstanding, he knew full well the GOP debates were the same day. His stunt made him look the fool. If Obama was worried about jobs, maybe he should not have gone on vacation to Martha's Vineyards or cut down on all the golfing.

I'm sure they could care less, of course the Obama Administration couldn't, unless they're with Solyndra... Jobs take second fiddle to Obama's plan for a "green economy".

Glad to see you, Webway and Bravo on the same page here.

Your post is an example of an Ad Hominem, and an attempt at "guilt by association" using the Argument By Emotive Language, or "appeal to the people"...

A good example of this would be to use the fact that the Communist Party (assuming we believed that they were universally disliked) supports Barack Obama to mean that nobody should because they are "bad" regardless of any logic or reason. It is quite literally nonsense. On occasion webbway may say something you too believe, like if he said that "auxiliary" is spelled "auxiliary"... That doesn't mean that agreeing with him on that means that auxiliary should be spelled in some other fashion.

A threefer fallacy in one sentence. Congratulations.

What industry is Obama not attacking. Guitar makers, cell phone wireless, banks, oil companies.
He is jimma carta with a tan.

I totaly disagree on your Webway theory.
In fact, though I understand you and Bravo having similar sentiments, I understand it less, the more I read of him.

The truth of the matter is that the GOP is obstructing anything that would help Obama get re-elected, anf they don't give a fuck who suffers as a result. Meanwhile the fabric of society is fundementaly changing as recession drags out into it's 6th year.

I assumed you were being facetious...what is obvious is that all Conservatives do not walk lock step like you would believe...

The truth of the matter is that EVERYTHING Obama has tried to do in his 2 1/2 years has only damaged the country and the economy more and more....
the Democrats thought is was more important to push their socialist agenda than work within the government to save our economy and grow our job base...and that is exactly what happened...

We have a socialized heath-care monstrosity that the people don't want and must be repealed, while unemployment grows and grows with each passing day.....

What bill has the house passed to promote jobs?

What bill has the house passed to promote jobs?
The House does not presume to lead the nation...thats the presidents job and he and his party control 2/3 of government

When he and his party controled the entire government they did the same thing they are doing now............nothing

The President nor the Senate has not passed a budget in over two years....

They spent their entire time in power blaming Bush for their incompetence and inaction....

Now you are going to (incorrectly) presume to tell me how congress works?

Better check your drool bowl, it is clearly overflowing.

Under Democrat control in 2008, they passed a massive $837 billion "stimulus" bill, which was supposed to create millions of "shovel ready jobs", or at least that is what Obama and the Democrats promised. Did you forget that or something?

I am talking about the house since the GOP assumed controll.

Now let's see if you respond.

You asked "What bill has the house passed to promote jobs?" And I told you! It was January 28, 2009... (I mistakenly said 2008). You want me to post the quotes from Obama promising this would create all kinds of new "shovel ready jobs?"

And the GOP didn't "assume" control, they won a majority of seats in November 2010, less than a year ago. Since that time, everything they have passed, has been rejected by the Senate, with the exception of one bill. Everything they have proposed to create new jobs, has been condemned by democrats as legislation which would push old people off the cliff and starve poor kids. So you see, we have a fundamental disagreement on what actually works to create jobs and what causes old people to topple off the cliff and poor kids to starve. Until we get you straightened out on that matter, I doubt anyone will EVER be able to post something to satisfy your request.

Funny how unemployment is lower under repubs. Something to due with not paying slackers for two years to smoke crack.

No, what's funny is, Obama promised if we spent nearly a trillion taxpayer dollars, we'd create millions of shovel ready jobs... so we pass it, and in two and a half years, we've lost 2.5 million jobs. What's even funnier is, this same buffoon is going to claim we need to spend another trillion dollars to create another mythical million jobs, which will result in losing another 2.5 million jobs. ..... Obama should come up with a plan to destroy millions of jobs, then maybe when the opposite happens, we'll at least have jobs!
