The level of civility is deteriorating rapidly

Not only that...it now appears as though Dix couldn't find the courage to respond to my claim...anyone wonder why?

Dopehead, I don't need to answer a rhetorical question which presumes an inaccuracy. You see, you are too stupid to comprehend what is posted, you mistakingly think I am complaining or 'whining' about lack of civility, and I've done nothing of the sort. I merely pointed out, the tone and political rhetoric are remarkably similar to just before the Civil War. That's not a complaint. That's not me whining. That is stating an observation. And it's not an observation relying on piety, nor does it show lack of courage to acknowledge it. So...as usual, you are completely wrong from start to finish, because you are too ignorant and stupid to comprehend the basic English language.

Funny. No rocket science is needed to know who is "the North" and who is "the South". And history seems poised to repeat itself. Remember? The South lost.

Another post filled with the same old "civility" we've come to know and love from ol Dix.

Insult after insult followed by ad hom after ad hom, all delivered while Dix continues his non-sop whining about the incivility of others...it's just too rich!

He's so very concerned about the civility of OTHERS, but his own ever-present lack of civility isn't to be discussed...oh my HEAVENS NO!!

You ARE a coward for not mentioning your own deplorable lack of civility and you are a coward for ignoring my comments while you went on yet another insult filled tantrum aimed at several others.

In short, and despite your numerous protestations to the contrary...you are indeed a coward.

A pretty big one at that.

The basic English language?

What does "mistakingly" mean, imaginary multimillionaire?

The community where the property is located gets tax revenue every year from that owner. It's called property tax.

Yeah, that old played out document called the Constitution. It had its day but we're way beyond that now.

Way beyond the interpretations used 200 years ago.

How is your welfare if/when ill and/or poor? How tranquil should citizens be (domestic tranquility) when 45,000 are dying each year unable to afford medical attention? Do you really believe it was the Founder's intentions people should suffer heart attack, stroke, kidney damage or death due to being unable to afford medication such as Propranolol which costs about 50 cents a day? That would have been equivalent to 2 cents in 1776. http://www.measuringworth.com/uscom...AR&year_source=2010&amount=1&year_result=1776

You're out of your fucking mind. Bush is the worst president in American History. By all accounts. The illegal Patriot Act. Two illegal wars. Financial meltdown.
I can take and have taken all that dished out...and you have the nerve to claim Christianity as a defense. Ain't no victim here. Were you here, I'd show you victim. You'd plead for me to stop showing you victim. You calling me names, means nothing. I've been called worse by better. Did you get that?
You're a racist, tea bagger, homophobe, anarchist, unpatriotic miscreant. In other words, white trailer trash. How do you like me now?

Double thanks, because one thanks wasn't enough.

So the state or federal government should just commondeer private property to give to the poor?

Not at all. One solution would be to make a deal with the owners to rent the houses. There are many houses, in some places blocks of empty homes. There are places where the empty homes have been taken over by rodents and other wild life causing major destruction. Low cost rent until the property is sold and the tenant has to move within, say, 3 months. The homeowner would benefit. The government would benefit from not having to pay market value as they do under Section 8 and, of course, the poor person would benefit.

I think it's important to distinguish between today's circumstances and the depression of the 30s. There were shortages in the 30s, the "dust bowl" conditions affecting food and high unemployment resulting in a shortage of material goods being made. Today, there is no shortage. High unemployment does not result in a shortage of goods as technology has replaced the need for employees. People are doing without not because of a shortage of homes and material goods and food but because of money. The dynamics have changed which means we, as a society, have to change. It is no longer necessary for 95 people to work in order to support 100. (5% unemployment) Maybe 80 people can support 100 people (20% unemployment) and things will be fine.

If there's no need for those 20 people to be working chances are there won't be jobs for them and as we progress the "problem" will only increase. I use the word "problem" but it's not really a problem. The whole idea of progress is to lighten mankind's load. Because money is required and some folks are terrified of the term "redistribution of wealth" the only solution is for the government to devise a plan where the unemployed do jobs beneficial to society as a whole and tax the wealthy so as to be able to give money to the excess workers. The marketplace can not sustain an advanced society in the sense jobs are determined by what society wishes to purchase.

As society becomes more and more automated the only option is some type of sharing.

Our government does give out Section 8 housing vouchers to the poor. Go look up a City called Lancaster, California and see how Section 8 vouchers have changed it.

(Excerpt) Lancaster is the fifth-largest city in Los Angeles County, California, and the ninth-fastest growing city in the United States.

With family income above the national average (average family income in Lancaster is $61,298), and housing prices below the state average (the median home price in Lancaster is $302,000), 70% of residents of Lancaster own their own homes.

Today, the city has over 600 acres (2.4 km2) of developed or planned parkland, including playground and picnic areas as well as tournament-level sports facilities….

For residents and visitors seeking a cultured evening out, the Lancaster Performing Arts Center provides a varied array of fine arts from community theatre productions to classical music and various forms of dance. It also draws celebrity performers from across the country and around the world, including renowned singers, dancers and musicians of all genres as well as comedians and variety shows….Lancaster's location in Southern California's high desert also offers easy access to a variety of outdoor activities year around.

The city has spearheaded the development of the Lancaster University Center to provide local students with a chance to receive a first-rate education in engineering and technology….California State University, Long Beach beginning in fall 2011 will now offering BS degrees in engineering (electrical and mechanical) at the LUC, ensuring students in the Antelope Valley will receive a first-rate education without leaving the area. Not sure what your point is. Sounds like quite a nice place to live.

You're Canadian so it is not surprising to me you hold the views you do. You would prefer a more European welfare type society than the system we have in the U.S. You of course have every right to hold those beliefs but to me the proof is in the pudding for what America has achieved vs the others.

I suppose it depends on the definition of "achievement". Is it success to have the most food when some citizens are going hungry? Is it prosperity to have the biggest houses when some people are homeless? Is it victory to have the latest medical technology while 45,000 people are dying every year due to their inability to afford basic care?

When Gabby Giffords was shot by Jared Loughner, we heard pleas from liberals to "tone down" the rhetoric. Much was made of Palin's imagery on a website 'targeting' hot political races across the country. Condemned for telling her followers not to retreat, but to "re-load!" Even though these comments were nowhere near the context implied, most on the left and right agreed, we need to "tone down the rhetoric" in politics.

However, since this tragedy, the liberals have gone off the hinge with a relentless barrage of personal and general insults, false claims of racism, and just outright slanderous lies, one after the other, with no end in sight, directed at the TEA Party movement. It's as if their own calls for civility went in one ear and out the other. Or maybe the calls for civility never meant LIBERALS should be civil, only those on the RIGHT? I think that is more likely the case. In the wake of the Giffords tragedy, what they really meant to call for, was the RIGHT to shut the fuck up and sit down. Let's let the LEFT say and do anything they see fit, and the RIGHT can just sit there and cower in shame, for the low-life garbage they are. We don't dare even raise our heads to the liberals, because it's ALL our fault... everything! THIS is what the Liberal pinheads meant, when they emotively "called for civility" in political discourse.

I have studied the 1861 War Between the States, (aka: Civil War)... One thing I find amazing, is the similarity in the divisive political tone leading up to that war, and the divisive tone we hear today. If you ever have the chance to read (or watch) North and South, you can observe the times much as they were, the people on both sides who pushed us into a war, simply by being too stubborn and prideful to think they needed to compromise. Two "sides" rallying bases... the Secessionists and the Abolitionists... both perpetuating the anger and vitriol until it finally boiled over into an all-out WAR! Many of those same people, who pushed for and WANTED a war, would live to regret their choices. Hundreds of thousands dead sons, brothers, fathers... a nation in ruins... all because of two sides with uncompromisable positions, unwilling to even try to reconcile. This is exactly what we see today, but instead of 'slavery' being the catalyst, it is 'labor' or 'class' which is being used.

Each day, the left-wing liberals peel back another layer and reveal how remarkably similar their views are to socialist communist style government, where the state controls everything and every aspect of our lives. This isn't "freedom" at all, it's the antithesis of it.
Bite me Dixie! ;-p

Oh no, that's hyperbole. Pierce, Harding, Grant, Buchannon, Andrew Johnson and Nixon were all worse then the Bush II.

I can tell you in one sentence. The U.S. became the world's eonomic power because we have the most liberalized economy and we have created an entrepreneurial environment where the best and the brightest in the world want to come.

The other sentence would be about the vast resources of the continent.

Bitch, I am better, in every way imaginable....ask around.. You classless tasteless retarded piss poor excuse for a human being and an American.

ANOTHER DOUBLE THANKER.

Stupid fucker ever heard of researching?
