Why? Sen. Rubio mentions Obama’s and Biden’s objections to raising the debt limit in 2006. However, there was no bailout in 2006. There was no financial crisis in 2006 but there were tax cuts in place for the wealthy. Why would the government want to borrow more money when the government was telling the wealthy it didn’t need their tax dollars? To compare raising the debt limit under Obama to raising it under Bush is….well, disingenuous to say the least.

Then he goes on to say the budget has to be cut and he’s all for compromise. Basically, he’s asking why a compromise can’t be reached. The answer is obvious. The Republican idea of compromise is to take away from the needy. It’s as simple as that.

The Republicans say they are all for family values. When a family trims their budget do they cut meals? Do they cut medical and dental care first or do they look at things like vacations and cable TV and postpone having landscaping done?

There is no reason why the richest country on the face of the earth can not look after it’s ill and poor. No reason, whatsoever. To suggest cuts that effect the ill and poor while telling the wealthy their tax dollars are not needed is nothing short of barbaric.

I believe the politicians in DC have found themselves some fools gold while raising the debt ceiling.
