The current liberal rhetoric reminds me of the Antisemitism rhetoric of post WWI Germany. They choose a favored target of hate, and spew nonsense, taking advantage of the anger that is out there, and giving it a focus in order to gain support.
The problem is, like antisemitism, the actuality of their claims make no sense. according to their nonsense, corporate America is waging war against the American middle class. Those mean, evil, nasty corporations are out to get us. One little problem with this scenario, however. If corporate America is actually successful in their supposed goal, who are going to be their customers after everyone is reduced to bare minimum sustenance wages? How much brain power does it take to recognize that the better off the average consumer is, the better that is for corporate bottom lines? If we're all too poor to do more than buy dogfood for our suppers and live in cardboard boxes underneath highway bridges, who is going to be buying anything?
While anyone will admit corporate America has too much influence in government through their multi-billions, how do the idiot anti-corporate liberals think the corporations intend to remain in power? If there is noone left who can afford their smart phones, or canned anchovy paste, or their ultra SUV with dual climate control and integrated voice operated communication system, how the hell are corporations supposed to continue to make the billions in profits which the progressive liberals are so envious?
The reality is corporate America, while undoubtedly putting themselves first, by necessity for their own continued success need a healthy middle class to be out there, spending their money on all the stuff corporations manufacture, and services corporations offer. The idea that corporate America WANTS the middle class to disappear is ludicrous.
Conversely, when more people are doing poorly, forcing them to be more dependent on government assistance programs, WHO REALLY BENEFITS?
Umm, how about the political faction that makes a big deal out of "helping" the poor?
